What does your HBT name mean?

I still love the Blues though

What does your HBT name mean?

I named the first song I wrote when I was first learning to play saxophone called, "Walkin' Talkin' Blues" . My name is Joaquin, a little play on words I suppose, for a 10 year old way back then. I picked this name up long after I put the sax down. Would love to play again, but I'd have to...

Ooops. I should have put my review in this forum, instead of the company review.. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f173/grain-hopper-rio-rancho-n-m-379407/ Nice guys. I am in there every other week..

    made too strong of beer??

with a 9.5 abv and all those hops you just made an american barley wine, and you could easily age it at least 6 months. after that time, the hops will fade and marry, and the alcohol should smooth, though it will probably always be a "sipperwarmer". Nothing wrong with that, but it also might be...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

First of all, BeirMuncher responds probably as often as he can, given he has around 30 recipes out there. Also, and he would be the first to probably agree, hundreds of people here have brewed this thing, many, likely more than HE has... I can extrapolate that he puts the primary and...

    Pop tops or flip tops?

Flip tops are very sought after, but in retrospect as someone who has sought them in the past, I can't really see all the benefit, besides them being cool and all. Caps are really cheap and dependable.

accidentally pitched entire liquid vial wyeast

You probably did something along the lines of a 5 gallon brewer pitching onto an entire yeast cake, and that happens all the time.

    keg disappointment

I bet it takes you closer to 15 minutes. I do the same. Easy peasy.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Saison for the season!

    Saison Cottage House Saison

I'll be brewing this on Saturday (BIAB). Here is my plan. First off, I have some different hops on hand that I am using up, so I have an ounce of Soriachi Ace and two ounces of Mt Hood (in place of fuggles). I haven't gone through the whole thread, but it seems everyone is happy with the...

    American Wheat Pale Ale

I made this beer, and it is crystal clear. Unless you agitate the yeast from the bottom, it won't stay in suspension.

How many weeks do you ferment, typically?

For typical english/american non high abv beers I do 3-4 weeks primary, two weeks keg at serving temps and under gas. Crystal clear beers every time, harvestable yeast cake, no off flavors, perfect head and carb.

    Alabama Homebrew Legislation 2013

It would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad. I love the response, "We have more important things to worry about". No, you don't. As an elected official, you are obligated to your constituents. This is why, historically speaking, elected positions were not the most desired ones. This is what is...

    What are you drinking now?

That looks like a tasty burger.

    Advice to new brewers

True. My processes have improved 10x. I am glad I started out on a very forgiving 1st all grain, BM's Centennial Blonde. I missed mash temps, piss poor ferm temps and first time kegging mistakes all to produce a great beer!

Do you trust other people's homebrew?

Oh no, I just realized what you said. I can't believe you have to do that. Sorry.

Do you trust other people's homebrew?

And then again, one thing you know about IM's is that they always knew what was going on, often before we did... People set to announce their retirements would get congratulated by the population before they announced it to their coworkers!
