Home bar finally done. Lots of pics

Nice bar! Home brew, darts, AND a Road King Classic - you're my new hero! :rockin: SWMBO might just hate you for posting this...:D

convince me to buy a barley crusher..

Seeing as my o-ring lasted all of 30 seconds and I got a great crush, I'd say it's not critical :D I'm getting ~84% using this mill :rockin: Allows me to buy several batches worth at a time and brew when I can - rather than rush because the grain's already crushed. Very pleased with it!

home brewing costs - is it me?

When I brewed extract, my batches cost a bit more than they do now (AG)...but my average cost per batch is now around $28-$30. I've got everything for a DFH 60 minute IPA - that was closer to $45 due to extra grain and - well - a 'few' extra hops... Some of my batches are $22 before shipping...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Thanks for the advice - I'll leave the CaraAmber out and save it for another time - I'm pretty sure my LHBS has Munich - I'll get out there this weekend for the Big Brew and get some. Thanks! :mug: (BTW - are the hops really noticeable in this brew? :D j/k)

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I'm new to AG - would CaraAmber be a suitable replacement for the Thomas Fawcett Amber? (The store didn't have any of the latter - CaraAmber was all I found...) Or should I just revert back to the Maris Otter? Really looking forward to brewing this next weekend - I was just introduced to DFH...

Midwest regulator issue/co2 not making it into corney

Didn't look like the unit came with check valves...maybe I'm missing something. If they do exist they're one of the usual suspects. Maybe not Kaiser himself...but I digress. Seems if you have pressure registering on the low pressure side you'd have pressure to the ball lock - I may be...

    Hops Tower Install

That is sweet! I love the top - looks awesome! Now if I only had a Kubota with a front end loader...

Midwest regulator issue/co2 not making it into corney

The in side has the short tube inside - also has the nut with a 'notch' in it. Is the corny fully depressurized? When you have the gas connected to the corny and pressurized - can you pull the release valve on the corny and get gas escaping? If not - can you remove and examine your poppets to...

    Show us your Kegerator

Thanks - I was going to paint it white and had a wild thought of inlaying a belt buckle - so I stained instead. My Clemson friends say a Tiger Paw would look better - but they won't turn down a beer either. :D (Already had it's first mishap - the 14 yr old manchild was looking inside and let...

    Show us your Kegerator

Hoping I can post pics the right way... Thanks to HBT, and Bobby_M's build video, I made the leap (a huge one for someone with my skills - or lack thereof!). A $50 freezer off of craigslist and lot of ebay and micromatic later and I'm putting a chaise lounge in my garage (don't have any...

    Howdy from South Cackilacky

No, just bottled almost 3 weeks ago - but still made it with plenty of time to spare. St George is in April? Going to try to hold on to most of it until late September - we normally hold an Oktoberfest get-together at my father-in-law's house and I'd like to share some then. I'm a big fan of...

    How did you find us?

Google took me to FlyGuy's cheap and easy 10 gallon cooler MLT.

    Howdy from South Cackilacky

Hello for Columbia, SC! Happened across this site after googling for MLT ideas - awesome site! Ended up following FlyGuy's cheap and easy - I think with the CPVC manifold I came out ~$50 (got the cooler on EBay for $22). Might have been less - but I got extra parts. Always seem to end up with...
