    Barley Crusher or Kegging Setup?

Not a brewmaster - don't even play one on TV...but: BC - PRO:crush your own (save $0.10 a pound if you buy a batch or 2 at a time, meh, but saves a buttload if you go in on *bulk grain buys!), may easily increase efficiency, grain is crushed fresh (vs. ordering from online - see *bulk grain...

Have you ever had a Colaweizen?

Disregard the old and ancient brew gods of America ( source of all beer right?) that hint at blasphemy when mixing bier und ? Enjoy your Radler und Kolaweizen und Geiss (1/2 L dunkel, 1/2 L kola, 2 shots of Asbach Uralt - try not to snort the foam - I dare ya!) And Spaetzle (not Spezi - my...

dont let me screw up this starter

Yep - and its WLP001 California Ale yeast. AHS sends 2 as they suggest pitching 2 for gravities over 1.060 (you can pitch two or make a starter) - probably a bit easier than giving instructions and including DME for a starter...

    Hose type for brewing?

I used 2 RV water supply hoses - not rated for heat but haven't failed yet (on my IC). I just cut off the end I didn't need... Saw these in use at the last LHBS Brew Day - washer supply hoses (rated for heat...)

    SWMBO Woes

</comedian=off> 1st - congrats on the new boy! Makes sense now - mom with new baby and all. Maybe BIAB (brew in a bag) might help - less equipment by far - store a lot in the kettle between brews. No chill too - those fermenters Rol is using store tighter and more efficiently than the buckets I...

Found a Worm on My plant !

Anything like this? If so - it's a Green Cloverworm (moth larvae). I'd go with the hand pick method that you already used - they shouldn't reach infestation levels... On the other hand a toothpick used as a pike with the little bugger impaled near the base of the plant might...naaaah...

    SWMBO Woes

I think SWMBO normally refers to wives/gf's around here, not mothers... :D :mug: (Overtly research a more expensive hobby - say skydiving, muscle car restoration, day trading...:drunk:)

Plum wine is so good I made 25 litres.

My father in law makes at least one batch of plum a year (6 gallon) - usually uses 1/2 bushel (~28 lbs) of fruit and 12 lbs of sugar if I recall correctly. 4 months to the bottle and 7 months to the glass. He's been making wine 40 years and still doesn't make 2 batches the exact same way - this...

First outdoor LP Brewday Failure - Eastman 90314 burner

Also - make sure the air shutter isn't closed (or mostly closed) - if it's closed (or mostly) you'll have a mild flame for sure. Crack it open and you should get into the jet afterburner mode...

Average cost of equipment, and supplies

Just a note on the pot - aluminum is just fine. My 40qt cost me $24 (plus a weld-free bulkhead/ball valve). +1 on getting a kit to start with. After you brew a few you'll have an idea of what you want to upgrade (if anything) or try out.

    Alcohol content by state

Restrictions vary from county to county, and even within the county when considering city limits here in South Carolina. Columbia (city proper) passed Sunday off-site beer sales before the rest of Richland county passed it. Now I don't have to go on post on Sundays just to restock... Also - +1...
