Conserving Water & Overall Less Wasteful

I have one keg dedicated to holding starsan solution made with RO water. I usually keep it for a couple months and use it for sanitizing everything. I will transfer some to a spray bottle that I keep handy. On a brew day I will generally top it off with more RO water and starsan concentrate if...

    The "Dear" , "Sincerely" thread

Dear person who took the elevator after me, My apologies for the foul odor of rotting death that enveloped you as you innocently utilized the lift. Sincerely, gaseous neighbor.

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

I have never been to Koln and have no plans to. I have had very few examples of a “Kölsch”. There’s just something about that yeast character that I am fond of. It’s kind of mind blowing and intriguing to me how much yeast character drives any brew. It brings more love and interest for me in...

    Soup

Cool, I’ll have to check out that recipe as well. This recipe is a family favorite. It’s a bit of work so I only make it a few times a year. This time I combined some ground beef and ground pork for the meatballs. This recipe calls for 1.5 lbs of meat, but 1 lb is plenty. 🍻

    WC-IPA with WLP-029

We usually go in Friday nights. About every other week for a couple beers and ingredients for a batch or two. We didn’t make it this week. Too busy. Im planning to stop in after work on Tuesday and do a night brew. 🍻

    YVH crop closeout sale

I feel like over the last 6 months or so they’ve had quite a few “sales” on Citra. I bought 2 lbs of the 2023 a few months ago. Must be a surplus.

That’s awesome to hear. They are my LHBS or LHBM as it may be. Love those guys. 🍻

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

I have no doubt it’s marketing to the less beer informed and I’m hoping it works because everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy Kölsch style beers. It is certainly in my top 5 favorite styles. I live in San Diego and am surrounded by breweries, but few offer a Kölsch. Many offer a blonde...

    Blonde ale = Kölsch ?

I’ve recently run into this a couple times where breweries label a beer as a Blonde ale but in the description it says Kölsch. Not sure if this is something new or just me paying closer attention.

    WC-IPA with WLP-029

I have been considering trying this with a Pilsner malt as the base and using Citra, Amarillo and Sabro. Thoughts or experiences with something similar?

    What are you drinking now?

I was just thinking how similar my starter looks to my OJ milkshake IPA… 😂

    What are you drinking now?

Brings back some fond memories. One of the very first craft beers I ever had ( 35ish years ago) was a Samuel Smiths brown ale. 🍻
