    The Yard House?

There is one near Golden, CO. I have been there many times. It is good. They have good food and a great beer selection on tap. I like it and would recommend it.

    small batch fermenter

Hey, So I have been thinking about doing more experimenting but I don't want to risk the money and time on 5 gallon batches. So I think I want to do several 1 gallon batches. I like glass carboys but I don't want to spend $30 per 3 gallon carboy. I have thought about just getting some...

New Brewer with lots of questions

1.) Can I sanitize all my equipment in my dishwasher, which has a 155 degree sanitize feature? Get some star san and use it. I use the dishwasher only to sanitize my bottles. 2.) Can I buy another plain bucket for secondary fermenting? Other than the not getting scratched up, and not having...

    Flying Dog Brewery

Not a fan of flying dog beers. I believe one of the founders also founded stranahans whiskey. I really like Stranahans whiskey. On a side note something about Flying Dogs branding is just not appealing and I am a Hunter S Thompson fan. Maybe if the beer was better I would like it.

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs.

Just wanted to reiterate that patience is often key. Just had a Wheat beer take about 40 hours before it started showing visible signs of fermentation. My brew cycle is typically 2 weeks in the primary, 2 weeks in the secondary, 3 weeks in the bottle. This allows me to brew every other...

Size of Batch to Size of Fermenter For Blow Off Method and Dry Hopping

I use a 6 gallon for my 5 gallon batches. Sometimes I have to hook up a blow off tube. Seems to work well.

    Small white circles in primary??

My guess is it is fine. Does smell funky or taste really bad? A picture would help a lot.

    cidery porter

I used star san then ran the bottles through the dishwasher. Thinking maybe I didnt wait long enough for the bottles to cool off. Could I save the batch by unbottling into a corny and pitching some yeast?

    cidery porter

3 weeks later.....for a total of six weeks total in the bottle...... no improvement

Best Guess at a Bud Select 55 clone

Here's an easier recipe budweiser select + water. Might as well cut out the middleman and pour it into the toilet. These low cal beers annoy me because all they are doing is making beer with next to no alcohol in it. Your recipe has 1.17% ABV. With that ratio my recipe would be about 1/3 of...

    craft brewers alliance

So after watching Beer Wars I decided to look into what beers actually are independent. I came across the company named Craft Brewers Alliance. I thought hhhhmmmmmm that must be some small brewers working together. Nope just Red Hook and Widmer merged together (news to me). I decided to give...

    Beer and Orange Juice

I was thinking about experimenting with oranges and wheat beer as something to drink in the AM. Blue Moon is always served with an orange or lemon slice at the bars I frequent. I'm not a fan of it but I was thinking I could do something to make it better since I like the concept in the AM.

    Beer Boycott

Yeah I typically have a lot of homebrew on hand but I still like trying different microbrews. I still drink BMC at some bars just because they don't carry anything else and if it $1 beer night. So yeeah they don't get much of my money. As for Walmart, I like it. Cheap, they have everything I...

    recipe

Brewed this a while ago. It spent 2 weeks in the primary and two in the secondary. Kegged it last weekend (first time kegging) and tried it today. Turned out pretty tasty. Gonna be great for the super bowl party this weekend.

Damn RIS just won't carb.. 5 weeks in bottles now

I have a porter in a similar situation. It has been bottled for 5 weeks and it is barely carbd and tastes really green (kind of cidery). I just put it out of sight and mind. I plan on trying it again in a month or so per people telling me to be patient. Still I wonder if I fell victim to one...

    Beer Wars

I enjoyed it. Made me want to drink some home brew. It was effective in making me not want to buy anything associated with BMC. I would rather drink beer from a brewer that sells a quality product not one that is focused on world domination through marketing.

Rookie Mistake (No Blow out tube) OOPS!

    Your beer will be fine.

How many brews are you trying for this year?

Yeah 26 for me. Every other weekend seems to be the perfect brew schedule for me. Pipeline!

    cidery porter

I did the kit and didn't add or do anything out of the usual. I feel like the yeast just isnt doing their job in the bottles since it has not carbed and the sweetness could be from the priming sugar. Wondering if I should un bottle it all into a corny keg and pitch in some yeast. Any...
