For the first time adjusting a Corona Grain Mill, I think I did well.

I got it from one of the members here. And no it did not come with the cat. The stl file is on thingverse though I'd check out the 3d print thread because a few members had to fix the support issue.

For the first time adjusting a Corona Grain Mill, I think I did well.

Thanks to one of our members here this is my new setup. Ended up pulling it fully apart and removing the spring clip that was set in the main arm as it was not allowing proper adjustment. after milling around a pound of old grain I was able to fine tune it for most malts. than have to sinch down...

Starting Over... Been A Long Time...

First welcome back. I can attest first hand to starting over again. I would suggest you start by looking at your gear and make sure everything is good. Next I would not use those for anything but breads now. 30 years even in a cool dark place is a very long time for LME to sit around. Also the...

    Lord Rahl's Golden Barleywine

After researching a different yeast I think I will be using 1 or two packs of fermentis ha-18. Brewfather says it will drop the fg to 1.014 before aging. Which is around what want. with an apv of 16.5

Historical Beers Early American Ginger Beer

I have made this but have not used the ginger powder. instead I peel and slice about 4 good size ginger roots. than beat them with a meat mallet and add them to 2 gallons of boiling water. boil for an hour or more tasting the ginger tea as you go. Once its as strong as you want it cut the heat...

    Home brewing with my children

The laws are different in every state and country. Many allow children to be part of the brewing process but not the tasting. While others allow the tasting while at home with the parents present. The practice of brewing with children in many states and countries is also covered under cultural...

Would this be safe to use a a primary?

These scratch super easy on the inside. Like the first time I poured the dog food in you could see them. they are not the greatest and honestly have douts about the foodsafeness of them. You would be better off going to a local big box or Winco if you have one and buying food-safe screw top 5 or...

Time to Get Real About Eating Spent Grain

Honestly I have no clue I just eat it in the morning and go about my day. It's not overly pasty if thats what you mean its more like a almost overcooked rice or grapenuts added to hot milk if that makes sense.

I use a mash tun myself. I've never done a BIAB. I'll adjust the grind a little more though.

For the first time adjusting a Corona Grain Mill, I think I did well.

So a little backstory. I've always had a 2 or three-roller mill setup. Since the wildfire, I went back to using a stone rolling pin till recently when I was given a corona mill I'm starting to get brews ready for the fair this September and wanted to get it set up so I can get a stout and porter...
