    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

That's what I thought, but better to ask and look dumb. Thanks!

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

I guess it's a possibility. It's brand new. I'll try it in water this weekend. I'm sure this is a dumb noob question, but what should it read in water?

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

Yeah, I checked it three times and came out with 1.010 each time.

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

Yeah, OG was 1.054 and it's at 1.010 now, putting it just a tad over 6%. I sampled again today and it's still super sugary. I'm pretty sure it's fermented as much as it's going to without adding more yeast, but I'll check it again in a couple days to be sure. I'm not opposed to high ABV beers...

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

Do you think it will? I think as much blueberry flavor as I have now, it should balance out pretty well. Then again, this is my first time playing around with oak or bourbon for a brew. On pitching more yeast, I considered it, but I feel like it will raise the ABV more than I want it to.

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

I transferred to a different fermenter to try and kick up the yeast and jump start it about a week ago. Although it did breathe a little life back into the yeast, there wasn't much further fermentation. I was planning to go along for the ride, but I sampled a few days ago and it's still very...

    Found this at work!

I was thinking the same. I would be limited to smaller batches due to the 5 gallon capacity, but if I can manage to install a SS braided hose, it may work.

    Nice catch, Watermelon! Thank you!

    Found this at work!

I found this in a cabinet at work and it's obvious it hasn't been used for anything for quite some time. I know there has to be a homebrewing function in it's future...just trying to figure out what that function is (I'm pretty sure all homebrewers see every piece of equipment they come across...

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

Then let it ride it is! I appreciate everyone's input. I'm still quite the noob. I haven't tried that. I'm in South Korea so it's hard to get stuff like that. But I'll be back in the US next summer. And of all places, CO. The land of milk, honey and copious amounts of great beer! I'll post a...

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

I'm considering brewing another 5 gal batch of porter, letting it ferment out and then mixing "wine" and porter 50/50. Thoughts?

    Blueberry Vanilla Porter turned Wine

So, I've been brewing for a little while now (5th batch) and so far it's all turned out pretty well. I typically don't buy recipe kits, but I decided to go with on this time. I purchased a Vanilla Porter kit and wanted to add blueberries in the secondary. So, I calculated how many pounds of...

    Korea microbreweries???

I typically order through www.homebrewing.org because of selection and it usually gets here within 7-10 days. Maybe I misunderstood, but I didn't think Midwest shipped to APO. I'll have to give it another look. Thanks for the info, Bryali!

In case anyone who's local here in Korea hasn't heard about this already... https://www.facebook.com/greatkoreanbeerfestival?ref=br_tf Maybe I'll see you there!:mug:

    Korea microbreweries???

I'm at CRC. I usually by the Seoul Homebrew when I forget to order something, but I get most of my supplies online. Shipping is still overpriced b/c I can't find an online homebrew supply store that has a good selection AND ships to APO. Send me a private message if you need more info.

Good Activity in Fermenter...Nothing on Airlock or Blowoff

A little follow-up...I cracked this a week or so ago and it turned out FAR better than I expected! Aside from slightly low carbonation due to mismeasuring carbing sugar. But you know...live and learn and drink plenty of homebrew in the process. I'll definitely be making this again! Thanks for...

Now that you say that I'm not sure why I didn't think of that. Thanks!
