    How long can priming take?

There is a phrase I would like to add to this. It is a phrase I say to myself after every batch. "Reserve Judgment for 3 weeks." After I bottle, I taste 1 beer every 3-4 days for the first 3 weeks. It will burn a 6 pack ahead of schedule, but I find it really educational to see how a...

    4 Popular Brew Kettles Compared

This is a great sentence, and it kind of highlights why one of my wants was for welded fittings. I have been using weldless bulkheads for almost 3 years. I would disassemble them for thorough cleaning every 2 or 3 uses, and there was always a bit of gunk between the layers. While true that a...

    4 Popular Brew Kettles Compared

My friend started doing 10 gallon batches in a 15 gallon pot, and he does it with success. There is a lot more room in his 10 gallon full volume boil in a 60 qt pot than there is for my 5 gallon batch in a 30 qt pot...but I still wouldn't turn my back on it when it gets started. I would call...

That’s it – I went with the Polar Ware Kettles and I am really happy with my purchase. I’ve never seen a comparison quite like this for the popular 5 gallon systems, so I hope it helps. Joe

    4 Popular Brew Kettles Compared

This thread was inspired by this post... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/32-qt-40-qt-ss-5-gallon-batches-280240/ A question in that thread about kettle selection for 5 gallon batches prompted this post. Maybe this will give someone in a similar position something to think about. I...

How to safely mount a pump to the brew stand

The 2 sides and the bottom are curved to make stops and the bracket on the pump just slides right in from the top. There are 2 mounting holes that you use to affix the mount to the stand. IOW, the mount is permanently affixed, where as the pump is removable.

How to safely mount a pump to the brew stand

I attached the B3 pump mount to my stand. http://morebeer.com/view_product/17322/beerwinecoffee/Pump_Mounting_Bracket_-_Stainless The pump is very easily removed from the stand for transport, but it is held securely by the mounting plate while in use. Nice product.

Brewing At Ramstein AFB in Germany

Here in NJ, we have a brewery called the High Point Wheat Beer Co. They call their beer line Ramstein. The brewer, Greg Zaccardi, trained in Germany, and named his beer line after that military base. I can't help with your original question, but if you reach out to Greg, he might have some...

3 vessel, 2 tier, one pump, which to elevate?

My rig is set up to fly sparge with one pump, and I have the MLT (orange) above the HLT (blue). To make my system work w/ the one burner, I start my strike water in the kettle, and pump it up to the MLT once the temp is right. As soon as the mash is set, I start heating 5 gallons of sparge...
