The issue for me, is draining after mash. Not sure how you do that without splashing. Mash cap isn't an issue, grant I have a basket, so it's probably easier than a bag.
Technically my second spund, the first was a bit of a failure. I was heading out of town and my last adjustment made it too tight and I came home to a maxed out 40 psi. This one came out perfect.
I won a contest and had my beer brewed. I missed mash in, but it was still a lot of fun. It was a 7 bbl system. Cleaning up the mash tun is a lot of fun. ;)
Explains why I don't see those big jumps, I don't make too many low gravity beers. Is there a simple lactic acid calculator out there? I might play with lowering the ph for the whirlfloc addition.
Outstanding! I've been using a grate (refrigerator shelf) but still have to lift the basket with one hand and throw the grate under. This would be a huge help.
