    $10.73 regulator

I just bought 2. Hopefully I can sell one and it'll pay for the other one.

    Homebrew Taste

Maybe the so called "homebrew taste" is chlorinated water beginners use to make their beer?
  3. Q

    Green Beer

I've noticed if I drink the keg within a week after kegging that it tastes bitter and the flavors haven't melded together yet. I believe this is carbonic acid that gives it the bitterness and off flavor. After about 2 weeks all my beers are good and great at 3 weeks. My pale ale just hit 6...

    Homebrew Taste

What is the "homebrew" flavor anyhow? Not commercial tasting?

So, what's the one brewing practice "leap" that you haven't made yet?

Mt process is pretty dialed in now, but I've yet to make a lager. I've got plans to make a bock soon, but have to brew a couple more ales I have planned first. I've already gotten temperature control and water chemistry down now. I've been using ro water with minimal mineral additions and...

    Apple pie beer

I don't think I'd even use more than a tablespoon of cinnamon. It can get overpowering very quickly, especially in a light beer.

How long can I wait to was my yeast?

I just kegged a watermelon wheat that was pitched with yeast from a cream ale that had been racked about 5 days before washing the yeast. I think that as long as you're clean about the process, you'll be fine for at least a few days at those temps.

    Fruit Beer Watermelon Wheat

Just kegged this a couple days ago. I added 1 lb of munich and 6 cups of straight watermelon juice. I also just used some repitched wlp090 and the sample tasted great. Got it carbing up now, should taste great. Watermelon comes through nicely, but not overpowering.

Winter Seasonal Beer Holly (Christmas Ale)

I haven't brewed this yet, but I subbed Maris otter for the 2 row hoping to make a maltier beer. I'm thinking about using an English ale strain also. Has anyone else done this? If so, how was your experience with it?

you know what really grinds my gears

I've got 4 beers on tap now. Everyone that tries them really like the cream ale and citra pale ale. I personally like the smoked porter. After about 45 batches, I've finally decided to branch out and try crazier things. I've been trying to perfect my process to where I know exactly how the...

How long does it take for your to drink your homebrew?

I just hooked up my 4 tap keezer so I don't a definitive answer, but I'd say they'll probably last about 5 weeks per keg with my wife and I drinking. Plus what I give away, which seems to be more lately.

    Pump ed up!!!

I plug a Christmas light remote control into my gcfi outlet to control my pump. Works like a charm. With the whirlpool my cooling times have reduced dramatically. Especially since I've been brewing in 102 degree weather all summer.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

    Thanks for the recipe.
  14. Q

What are you doing instead of brewing this weekend?

Throwing a party so people can finally try my beer. Hopefully I'll get a few converts that want to start homebrewing themselves. Should be interesting to get people's reactions.

Why Not to Pitch On Your Yeast Cake

Pretty sure. I'd say I'm pretty familiar with the autolysis flavor now. No big deal really. Just gotta revamp my process a little and hopefully the issue doesn't pop back up. I'm planning on going to nhc in san diego next year. Maybe I'll see you and we can talk more about it then. I think...

Why Not to Pitch On Your Yeast Cake

So, the brown ale never did get much better. I fed it to the snails and made way for an awesome citra pale ale, so no complaints. I'll be washing the yeast from now on.

What I did for beer today

Hooked up the beer lines on my keezer.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Just tasted this after 1 week in the keg. It's clearing nicely and tastes and smells like sweet corn. Hopefully it's fully carbed and people like it at our party next Sunday. So far so good.

What I did for beer today

Ordered some keg repair parts. Now I'll be able to cold condition and carbonate so they'll be ready when my other kegs kick.
