Quadrupel, and IPA are my two favorite types of beer, and i want to make a quadrupel ipa, has anyone ever done this? I am planning on getting a recipe for a comercial quad, and making it a quad ipa. tips? hints? pointers? moans? complaints?

it gives off flavors. thats what the last two batches of mine have succumb to. so sad. made a hoegaarden clone and it smells like armpit.

the hell kind of yeast did they smack into that batch? 20% would just about slaughter any strain i know of. in fact, how do they get utopias up to 25? is it reinforced?

like its a good beer and all but i dont think its the best ipa out there. not by far.

hell if any of you have older verts and want some pliny/pig let me know and ill part with them because ive got a pretty constant supply of the stuff.

yeah its that "oak aged" part that kills most aspects of ever recreating such a beer, on top of the fact that you'd probably have to make five different beers first, then blend them and find the right proportions. hell no.

or when you dont want to spend a few hundred dollars on more carboys. just keep that trash in the primary until you have the right stuff to do it properly. no use worying. its beer. its forgiving.
