    Did I beat the bomb?

I'm thinking you are right. I used the recommended amount to prime like I normaly do, FG was at 1.013 and temps have been good. I still plan on checking a few every day to see. If I open any it will be the one with the crack and will be another taste test if nothing else. Just a bit jumpy...

    Did I beat the bomb?

Not yet. All the other bottles looked okay this morning and I've never had a bottle crack or explode on me. This one I think may have just been a damaged bottle. Didn't notice anything with them before bottling so I guess I'll just keep tabs on them daily. How can you tell if they are over...

    Did I beat the bomb?

Checking on my oatmeal stout bottles this morning and noticed this. I don't remember the "crack" being there when I bottled last Saturday. None of the other bottles have any signs so I placed this one in a plastic storage container with lid.

    cold break oxidation?

I don't think you have to worry about oxidation when cooling it off. I have dumped hot wort on ice blocks, added water and stirred like crazy. You want as much oxygen as possible prior to pitching yeast.

Well, next on my list is getting to full 5 gallon boils. Right now al I can do is a 3 gallon partial. After that I want to get to all grain and kegging.

    Limited Brew Space?

Well after looking over the forums to get some ideas I came up with this. I can condition 4 cases of bottles on the shelf or 8 if I stack(49 bottles of Oatmeal Stout in picture). I really want to start using kegs soon but this will do until then. Thanks for the ideas. :mug:

    Bottle temp while carbing?

I am able to ferment at 64-68 degrees in my house but after that I have no way of keeping my bottles that temp while they carbonate. I use a tub and water for fermenting. I have an extra fridge but it's in a carport so it's not the best place in cold months. Will bottle conditioning at 72...

    Sweet Water Georgia Brown

I have tried a lot of their beers and picked up some Georgia Brown the other day. Kinda had a tootsie roll smell to it and when I tasted it an IPA was my first thought. I kept working on it and half way down I started getting a headache but didn't think much of it. Since I had a headache I...

    Noob Hydrometer Question.

I'm moving to a secondary before bottle so it will be in it for a week or so. I'll have to bottle my oatmeal stout this weekend (been in secondary for two weeks.) so I can just rack the brown ale to the other secondary before I bottle if it's ready. That's kinda what I was thinking...

    Noob Hydrometer Question.

Is it wise to take a reading while I still have airlock activity? I know from what I have read here that doesn't mean it's fermenting, but do you guys normally wait till activity has died off? It's been in the primary for 11 days now and started fermenting about 8 days ago. So to sum it...

Very little activity after using starter. (Pitched 10 hours ago.)

I've read most of them and there is a ton of good info there. I just worry way too much about things. I've read where some starters or slurry take off in about 5 hours and so when mine did not.... I assumed the worst. Anyways thanks for the responses. :mug:
