Bru’n water used to hit my pH estimate dead on shortly after I got my water report. Over the last 1.5 years it has drifted to where I am coming in consistently low by .1 on my pH. If you’ve got a non city water source, I’d expect it to be more stable, but it can still drift over time.

Con for a basket is that it doesn’t take up as much mash volume as a bag. I ran into water to grist ratio problems.

What are you trying to make?

820 is a lager yeast. 59 degrees is on the warm end of the lager scale. Assuming you’re talking about beer, it will do fine. Your question is very vague though. You’re not specifically making a lager or an ale ... are you even trying to make beer? What’s your goal? Hard to recommend...

I have used it in line during mash recirculation. During transfer from mash to boil, from boil kettle to fermenter and from fermenter to keg. The main use I had for it was fermenter to keg, and then mostly for very hoppy beers or fruit sours.

Bump

Selling my CIP spray ball that I used to use on my Ssbrewtech unitank. Has a 3 inch TC plate. No issues, like new. I found it’s just not worth the extra effort at this scale. 40 dollars shipped to you.

I feel like the solo setup is similar to my brew boss in how the mash works. There is a lot of water that is not inside the mash. I would average around 65% efficiency. Probably be fine

I’m running a recirculation manifold on top of my grain bed. The hose going into the center of the manifold interfered with the ball float. With all your silicone I thought you were using a manifold. I see that you’re not. Bending is not an issue for you.

You may want to try adding a few bends. A small tubing bender helps a lot. For reference this is the 12 inch rod in a 20 gallon mash tun. Edit: Nevermind ... I though I saw a recirculation manifold in there.
