How long can you keep a beer in a keg?

I had some once from a corney that was 4½ years old. It was stored in a basement with CO2 pressure on it. It was great. I think that having no "air" in it and good sanitation to start, it may last a good long time.

    Finding that CO2 leak

Do any of these dry to not leave a mess, or do they stay wet & sticky on the fittings?

    Finding that CO2 leak

I've got a CO2 leak in my new keezer. Couple questions for you guys. What is the best liquid solution to find the leak. I'm hoping that when I'm done everything won't be covered in a soapy residue. What do you guys use? Eisendrath

    Pin lock vs Ball lock

There is an old distributor/bottling company in Danbury CT that has thousands of used ball locks for sale at ~25. He advertises in NW CT Craigslist a few times a year. I don't know if he will ship less than a skid of 25 but I may be able to get his number.

    Alternative Ways of Adding Resistance

Either go for 3/16 line at 1 foot per 2 psi of pressure or go for the swizzles. They work really well and are inexpensive. See : https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/cure-your-short-hose-troubles-100151/

    Keg Headspace And Carbonation Time

did you purge the 1/2 keg really well several times to get most of the air out? remaining air will spoil the beer in time. i don't know if it will block the CO2 but it will share contact area with the CO2 and possibly slow entry. When in this situation I always fill to 15psi making ½CO2 /...

Ways to have multiple kegs w/ different pressures?

I have 4 secondary regulators in my keezer. It's really the way to go. Just be catreful to get ones that are rated to operate at that temp, regulate at low psi, and are non releiving. Having a check valve between them and the beer is a good idea as well.

Heads up, sure way to explode a bottle

Was visiting a friend and somehow emptied a 22oz flip top. :tank: I wanted to keep it wet inside for easier cleaning when I got home so I filled it with cold water and closed the top. First time it exploded I didn't think about it enuff..... 2nd time, I have this advice to offer...

Effect of temp on foam head at constant psi

My new keezer, fashioned after Quaffers (thanks buddy) sits in a breezeway between my house and garrage. I have it set at 42°F. This room is unheated and resides below freezing all winter. Right now the Dwyer controller says the beer I just poured is 31.4°. Besides the flavor loss, I think...

    New hose cause foam???

This is a great place! Thanks guys! I'm gonna install the swizzles because I have them and order up the smaller tube from http://midwestbev.com/200-0307.aspx (31¢/ft) unless someone knows of a better price somewhere. I'll change the hoses as each keg goes empty.

    New hose cause foam???

If 9 feet X 3/16ths is the consensus, I'll change them tomorrow. (The mixers are great but in the way at cleaning time.) The home brew store had only 1/4". Off to Home Depot I go . Vinyl ???

    New hose cause foam???

Rawlus: "any special reason you didnt use 3/16th?" ..1/4" barbed fittings on everything. ..it's tough to push even the 1/4" hose onto the barbs. ..that's what I used on my first kegerator. No problems there. keezer is set at 42° and holding there. Thermocouple is taped to the side of...
