    Yet another yeast count question...

    I am brewing Waldo Lake Amber Ale this weekend... Estimated OG = 1.063 I plan to use yeast washed from a batch mid october. Dennys FAV 50. I did a normal 1 l starter got good activity, etc.. looking at mr malty..says i need "1054 ml of yeast" when re pitching from slurry Am i reading this...

    Fermentation Temperature Question

    put a thermometer (stick on brew thometer if you have one) on the outside of carboy then adjust temp as needed. after a few you will get an idea of where to start, how to adjust, etc. hope this helps. cheers

    I just wanted to say thanks to the OP and every one else who posted advice in this thread. i took the parts list to home depot and got everything i needed.Built the MT at home and looking forward to my 1st AG brew this weekend! wish me luck.

    brewed this up today. used .5 oz of NB @9.4% per beersmith. Excited about this batch as it is my 1st no-kit brew. Baby steps right? I am interested to know the mathematical formula for adjusting the hops amount per %AA change if someone can put it down simple. i am a dork when it comes to math...

    sorry for the noob question, but..... Recipe calls for: 1 oz northern brewer 6.6% and 1 oz cascade 6.4% I have 1 oz northern brewer 9.4% and 1 oz cascade 6.6%, How much of these hops should i use and what formula are you using to arrive at the correct number. Thank you!

    Man, i have done so much reading and searching between this WONDERFUL site, mrmalty, and others i think i have confused myself. Mr malty says i need a starter size of 1.19 liters. I have only a 1 liter flask. i have a smack pack of wyeast 1056. what are the steps to make a starter size of 1.19...
