Anybody adjust PH of Wort after Boil before Pitch?

Do you use Hydro chloric Acid in steps to get there?

Anybody adjust PH of Wort after Boil before Pitch?

I am sure I may get there someday.... with building my water, taking into consideration the Malted grain, whether or not it will attenuate the PH value or not, etc. I make a good tasting beer, consistently but wanted a bit more crispness to my IPA. So I thought to reduce if need be using acid...

Anybody adjust PH of Wort after Boil before Pitch?

I was wondering if anyone adjust the PH of their wort before pitching yeast. I partial brew, where I use a couple lbs of grain and then DME to supercharge the gravity. I was wondering if I can just add hydrochloric acid to lower the PH if I care to or use Bicarb to increase alkalinity? My...

    Berry wine

I too like Cabs, but I add tanins (From the few batches I've done) at the end if needed. You can add but you cannot remove. I am too new to rate or advise, only suggest, if indeed someone did not know that tannis are stronger if skins and seeds are left in longer... (learned that from a white I...

Options on small batch kegging and your success or fails

1 gallon is 1 Twelve Pack. Pretty easy bottling at that point. Economical and last longest. FWIW EDIT. P.S I too like simple, hence DME for a base.

    Berry wine

PLUS you want the skins out sooner then later. I quoted because these are the steps, some remove skins within 3-4 days to keep Tannins down, ie., "not so dry"

    Berry wine

Ph Meter and Potassium Bicarbonate before ferment. I do not think you could ever use enough fruit to get enough sugar to get a high enough gravity start, or Sugar Start ie 1090 without sugar or the likes, eg,. Honey.

Sears /Kenmore sucks. I just threw out a 4k fridge after 30 months, not before being served a 300 bill at 24 months for warranty. Stay away from LG their compressors are known junk and they still sell them. You will find them in Kenmore / Sears since LG makes them. I am happy with Panasonic or...

    acid test red wine?

That is kinda interesting in the fact that One can measure with a PH meter, to the 8.2 via Sodium H using the calc. One would think (since I have not gone over and used the calc yet dloaded or allowed Jscript) that the PH meter would be able to help cipher acid, but I guess that is where the So...

    acid test red wine?

Well that went full circle from my orig statement of "if you do not trust your tongue" LOL So on the subject, the 8.2 is achieved via Pheno drops (I assume) as that is the first application to the 10ml reserved for the test. At which point the Sodium is then administered in increments such as a...

    acid test red wine?

So do you bring up your test solution to 8.2? And measure from there? Where you would need both the Pheno drops to get to 8.2 and the So H30 is it? or is that peroxide? any how add the 10cc increments to the 10 cc sample to know the TA?

Good to hear feedback from someone who is real on that kit.

    acid test red wine?

So PH is different than acid for those making fruit wine. If a kit prob spot on and the PH meter will assure the tart is from acid and not PH. To handle red wine because of the strips from paper and matching is indeed difficult. Use this kit if PH is good and you want to check the tart and do...

    Universal poppet problems

You could snip 1/2 turn off the bottom of the spring on that one (once you get it apart) I have read some one here shared that with me when I was asking about Universals for my Firestone Pin lock Poppet. I used all of that the type, on all 3 of my kegs, all six posts, I also lubed them with...

I understand (so I think with my perceived knowledge) The Solutions once contaminated with Co2 which turns into carbonic acid. Cite- (see DI water storage for ref) http://www.tmasc.com/di%20water%20specs.htm
