    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

Yeah, I wanted to wire it to handle 20 amps at 120v, in case I ever do move up to anything greater than the 1500 watt element I plan on using. Future-proof, if you will.

    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

Ok, I can definitely understand the logic of disconnecting the full amp load. That's exactly the kind of knowledge I need inputs of with this post. Or any thoughtful schematic would probably have it too. That enclosure is perfect! Only $30 too. I was looking at one of the other boxes on...

    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

@BeardedBrews you mention the "aesthetic improvement", which is something I'm definitely going for. No offense to anyone on here that's done a build, but the plastic project boxes, tupperware, etc. just look like **** to me. I'm willing to pay a little more to make this thing look like it was...

    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

From the EZBoil Manual "EZboil has a built-in buzzer that can be programmed to beep when temperature reaches the alarm set temperature, ALH. The alarm will generate four short beeps every time the temperature rise from below ALH to higher than ALH." Guess I don't need to worry about external...

Homebrewstuff 1500w heat stick proper grounding?

I’m going to only be Brewing 2.5 gallon batches, so I want to see how the boil is with just the element at first. I know it can just barely get 5 gallons to a boil. Figured I may supplement with my kitchen’s cooktop if needed, or just to speed things up.

Tiny Brew House. Ultimate BIAB 110v System Build

Man, that’s an impressive build right there. I might be wrong here, but could you Brew and distill out of this thing? (With a few small adjustments)

Homebrewstuff 1500w heat stick proper grounding?

That’s exactly the dilemma I was going through. Figured the watt density (just below 70w/sq.in. or upper limit of ULWD) and it is actually lower than some other widely used elements known to work well, like the hot rod’s element from brew hardware. I’m going to go ahead and...

    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

@mredge73 ok, looks to me like folks use these alarms for reminders when to do additions, change temp, etc., or alert them if temps fall out of range, is that correct? If that's the case, I just feel like my iphone timer can handle that and I'll be close enough to monitor temps regularly. Good...

    DIY 120v eBIAB Controller Help

Hey Everyone, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the Electric Brewing or Brew In A Bag forum, so if it needs to be moved, sorry. I need some help from all the experienced users here with putting together a 120v controller for a recirculating eBIAB (Basket) kit. I've never done a brewing...

Condo Brewing V2 - Custom eBIAB Build Thread (120V)

@Metzen Found your basket over in another thread regarding solid sided vs. all SS mesh baskets. How's it performing for you? Efficiency, recirc rates, etc.?

    Weldless Element w/ Integrated Plug

Lol, figured that’s what you meant. Sounds good!

    Weldless Element w/ Integrated Plug

No problem. Did you mean to say it should NOT be ok? If it’s only slightly higher I️ was figuring it would be ok to use.

    Weldless Element w/ Integrated Plug

Sorry for the late reply, but your math seems right to me. I got the same diameter here (5/8"), and you even adjusted the length down for the actual heating length, making it more accurate. According to some other guidelines I found on watt densities...

Very true, the TC does keep it easy for removal/cleaning/etc.

    Weldless Element w/ Integrated Plug

That’s not a bad idea, I️ was just trying to “slim down” the install. The hot pod seems overly large, and I️ figured there was something out there that was more streamlined, like the Williams Brewing element I️ linked in the very beginning of this thread...

    Weldless Element w/ Integrated Plug

I was hoping someone made and sold something like this idea already, for the end user, so that all you needed to do was drill a hole and do your weldless install, no messing with wiring, etc. Seems like a ripe opportunity.

    Inkbird IPB-16 PID Controller Inquiry

Hopefully, someone could end up selling these modified units (pump switch, upgraded probe, 20 amp capacity, etc.), for those of us not so electronically inclined.
