Starters benefit from a constant 72*. Up the temp and swirl every time you go past it.

    Stuck Sparge

When I dropped down to 5 gal batches they weren't deep enough to get good efficiency so I went to BIAB. So I didn't have to change mill settings (I think that happened to you) I got a bag for the 15 gal rectangular cooler. I mash 50% wheat beers without rice hulls and no stuck sparges.

We had this form in a 25 gal barrel. After tasting we decided to keg it. I took mine to a fish fry that week and it kicked. 3 went off in a month and the 5th was pasteurized and was good until it kicked. Taste it first! I used my plastic to rack and taste, It made purchasing the SS racking cane...

    cheater hops

The class clown in me couldn't help it. I was gonna say Galaxy. Zythos is one I enjoyed in an Amber. I have Eldorado and Idaho7 in a Voss IPA that was fantastic. Wonder how they would do alone.

Need help diagnosing lower than expected efficiency

You state that your crush has been getting finer and the eff. should go up. Are you letting the mash gelatanize before recirculation starts? Could it be possible there is channeling going on. Give it a stir!

Hochkurz Mash (Partial Decoction) and Mash Efficiency

My Wit beer is 25% wheat malt, 25% flaked wheat, and 50% pale malt so I mash in at 122* for 20 min then add boiling liquor to, get to 152*. This way I don't denature any foam positive proteins.

Hochkurz Mash (Partial Decoction) and Mash Efficiency

Most maltsters stop the germination when the acuspire is 3/4 to 7/8 the length of the corn. So that small end has starch that is released in the decoction boil. I always get 3-4 points more.

Got my water report, now im confused what to do

I'm too cheep to not install an RO system. Purchased RO water is between .30-.50 $ per gallon. Home RO water is .03 $ per. Filter change is ~100$ and I get 3000+ gallons. I think after 6 years it's more then payed for itself. Oh, my alkalinity is ~400ppm.

    First time making cider

I use The Yeast Bay Belgian Dry liquid yeast. It ferments to 13.2% abv on all the fruit ferments I've tried. It produces a lot of glicerine so the mouth feel is smooth without any back sweetening.

Mashmaster (Millmaster) fluted grain Mill Resource Thread

What I like to do is mash in at 97*-104* at a 1:1 ratio then add boiling liquor after 20-30 min to get to 143*-148*, rest 10 min then pull first decoction. My Wit is 50% + wheat, half of that flaked, and my rye lager is 36% rye(some flaked). I BIAB and don't need any rice hulls to drain with this...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

The first book I read of Peter's, his formulas used diastatic malt powder with honey as a substitution. We're brewers! I take 14 grams of wheat malt and turn it to flour in a bullit blender and add it to all my dough starters.

Struggling to Find Creative Ways to Use Paper Food Trays for Events

Line the perimeter with colorful lettuces, I use red ones around the taco dip. With meat balls maybe red onion slices. Lots of colorful veggies to use that can also be consumed.

how should i dry hop my beer?

When I was experimenting with the Abaxis terpines I left out the whirlpool hops to get an idea of the flavor contribution. Well the aroma was awesome but no flavor. I would put 1 oz at 10 min and 2-3 at 0 with a 10-20 min whirlpool or steep.
