BIAB Electric External RIMS/GAS Hybrid system

The simplest solution (and one I use effectively) is just running a high temp silicone hose from the output of your pump over the side of the kettle and into the mash. I didn't want to drill another hole in my kettle so I went that route. I'm no help with a controller recommendation though, I...

    Maryland BrewHardware RIMS Kit

In my further simplification of my brewhaus, I'm looking to sell off my RIMS tube. There are absolutely no flaws with this equipment. I am very meticulous with everything and clean it all at the end of each brew day. This setup has been used approximately 5 times as I only use it in the...

Looking for low profile clear fermentation vessel

I've never used one of THESE myself, but it's the first thing I thought of when you said your Better Bottle wouldn't fit with an airlock on it

    pH of Castle Pilsner Malt

Nice! I just have my LHBS mill my grain for me. Do you BIAB?

    pH of Castle Pilsner Malt

I do not have a pH meter, so this is somewhat unrelated, but I did notice a 5-7% drop in efficiency every time I use this particular malt.

Heady Topper Results From Ward Labs

BUMP, curious if anyone ever went nuts with a gypsum addition for any of their beers, Heady clone or otherwise

Maybe I don't like Columbus hops? (First NEIPA)

I brew a lot of NEIPAs because I don't have any local breweries making any and I enjoy them quite a bit. Looking at a few of my recent recipes, I've been bittering somewhere between 20-25 IBUs with Warrior as a FWH. I just tasted a NEIPA that I brewed using Columbus as my only bittering...

Maryland 60 QT Jaybird False Bottom

Looking to sell my Jaybird False Bottom. It is listed on NorCal's site HERE for the V 1.0 Spike Brewing Kettle in the 15 GAL/60 QT size. It will, however, fit any 60 QT Concord pot. That's actually what I've been using it in, a generic Concord pot with a weldless valve that I installed myself...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I used some in my version of this recipe with Citra/Mosaic/Conan. Beer was great but when I went to dry hop, the reopened bag of Azacca smelled way oniony. I was very disappointed and decided not to risk it, so I only dry hopped with Citra & Mosaic. Really not sure what happened because I vacuum...

    Keg Lines

Are you doing anything to keep the beverage lines inside of the tower cold?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

What was your fermentation schedule, including temps? I'd like to try this myself.

need a good IPA thats not super bitter

A 5 micron filter is mainly for removing sediment in the water. Are you on a well or municipal water supply? Not trying to bombard you with water questions, but my pale hoppy beers went from boring and bland to awesome when I started using distilled water and building it to the desired...

    Oatmeal Apricot IPA

Beautiful beer! I picked up 3# of apricot purée as well that I plan on adding to half of a saison I just brewed yesterday. My plan is to split half of the batch into a 3 gallon carboy with all of the purée. I'm hoping this will keep me from having to use any additional flavoring.

need a good IPA thats not super bitter

Do you have RO water available? Are you opposed to trying a simple water profile from scratch? The pH of your water isn't as important as the residual alkalinity, but you'd need a water report to know that. Are you doing anything to your tap water to eliminate chlorine & chloramines?

Am I the only one that uses a lot more hops than most recipes I see?

Nope, I go nuts with hops as well, especially the expensive ones. You don't happen to have a Pit and a Chihuahua do you? (Asking because of the beer name)

need a good IPA thats not super bitter

What's your water situation like? Water makes a huge difference in pale beers like IPAs, especially pertaining to perceived bitterness
