Kegerator.. Is this a score or a disaster?

Need to see pics to know how good you did. R-12 can be expensive if you don't know someone, if you have a buddy or know someone who has a buddy work a deal.

For lack of a better word what is the half-life of chlorine? If you were to let it sit with just say water in it for a month then just clean it with soap?

Another Okie new to the hobby.

I did not prime my keezer before painting. I just cleaned it with pre-paint prep solution. I have painted some things with Chalkboard paint, and honestly it sucks. It is best used in small doses (think tap handles). Larger areas just do not look at as uniform, and it is time consuming to...

    #5 Plastic for bottling bucket

My dad is a swimming coach at a local high school. When they "shock" the pool with cholorine they use 5 gallon #2 recycled plastic buckets. They have a screw on lid that would easily be drilled to fit an airlock. Would be interesting to see if these could work in some way. What do you guys think?

    Getting Wax Off Bottles- advice?

I usually soak them in hot hot water with amonia. Depends on the wax you use I have found. Some candle wax comes off really easy compared to others. Alot of times if it just doesn't peel right now I use a paint scrapper with a metal edge.

Another Okie new to the hobby.

Hey Brother, welcome. Good to see another okie on here. Why are you wanting to move to AG so quickly? I just painted my keezer a couple of weeks ago. Just use a good paint and you should be fine. I used Rustolem satin and it worked great. I have also used Rustolem Universal - Hammered...

    Activator Pack did nothing

Random question but is it possbile that certain yeast strains just do not swell the pack as much or as fast? I just pitched a wyeast - ringwood ale yeast that hardly swelled the pack if at all. The next morning it was going nuts however.

    Fryer Burner and 15+ gallons?

Depends on the capabilities of the burner and how many BTU's you can throw out. My FIL has a jet burner he made like 20 yrs ago that will pour on the heat and throw up a quick boil on 15 + gallons. He uses it for crawfish. I have no idea how many BTU's but it sounds like a fighter jet taking...

Silk screened or painted label removal

Have you used this same technique on Coronoa bottles? I am just curious if it is something in the Red Stripe labels, or if it applies to all labels?
