Just did my first AG batch last week did a black IPA...here's the grain bill I used 10 lbs American 2 row 1lb crystal 40 .5 lb carafa III .25 midnight wheat Sparged the midnight and carafa It's definitely black but have sample it yet still fermenting

What grain bill do you guys usually do for your IPAs?

Trying to create an IPA but just throwing some things out there to see what feedback I get and I don't really want a malt bomb going for more of a hop bomb. So maybe ill cut out the malanoiden and lower the Munich

12 lbs American 2 row 1 lb Munich malt 1 lb crystal 40 .5 lb melanoiden malt Haven't came up with my hop schedule yet, but probably gonna do some warrior bittering and some falconers flight and simcoe goin for an IPA also

When batch sparging what's the usual amount of time you let the sparge water sit with the grain?

Think the oxiclean and star San combo would kill scything growing in it?

I and run my auto siphon with hot water and oxiclean and sanitize before every use but their starting to just look dirty not sure if its just the use of it

I didn't because we had to keep the paddle in for the wort to come out but I didn't vorlauf after the first time

First all grain brew yesterday,couple issues first I ended up mashing at about 158, then my SS braid got clogged and it took about 90 min to grain off we had to use the mash paddle to clear the braid. We took our preboil reading and were only at 1.038 so I got worried but afterward I remember...
