Looking For Instructions and Measuring and Adjusting Mash pH

Yes, I realize I need the meter. But I had no idea where to begin. So lets say I do have a meter and I conduct a test mash and find I have a pH of 5.9. Lets say this is for an IPA recipe. What would I do with that number (5.9) to get my mash at the correct pH (5.2, correct?) using the info...

Looking For Instructions and Measuring and Adjusting Mash pH

I have been searching wide and far but have not been able to locate specific instruction on how to conduct a test mash to determine what my mash pH would be for a specific brew session and how to adjust it. I have been using the recommendations in the "Brewing Water Chemistry Primer" (Cutting...

BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde - Grain to Glass in 1 Week?

Seriously? My goal is to serve it on July 10. That would be 14 days from brewing. I've only used force carbing via 36 hours at 30psi and then set to CO2 volume target pressure and then drink a few days to a week later. Would I need to shake the corny? Never carbed that quick before. The...

So what would 2 weeks look like? I.e. 9 days in primary, 2 days cold crash w/gelatin, 2 days carb at 30 psi?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Brewed this yesterday. According to BierMuncher's first post on this recipe, you can go grain to glass in 2 weeks. How soon could I keg it, based on your experience with this brew? Could I have this ready to drink by July 4th? She's kicked off nicely after about 16 hours at 68F. 1.045 OG

    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

Is a Centennial Blonde considered a softwater beer? Trying to determine how to apply the primer to Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde recipe I'm brewing tomorrow using RO water.

CO2 Lines Got soaked in Water - Issue?

Pressurize them into an empty keg, maybe? I'm concerned with nasty' getting into the beer when the line purges.

CO2 Lines Got soaked in Water - Issue?

The line was disconnected from the regulator and I left it sitting in the kegerator full of melted and solid ice until the next day. It was submerged and the water got in through the line that had been connected to the regulator. Lesson learned for sure. I drained it and hung it to dry but...

CO2 Lines Got soaked in Water - Issue?

I was running CO2 to 4 corny's in a rolling kegerator. I unhooked them and left them in the kegerator overnight and they were sitting in water. Water got into the tubing and QD's. I drained the water out of the line as best I could without taking everything apart. Is this going to be a...

Outdoor Party - Beer Was a Hit!

Thanks folks! And it did feel great... And I have you guys to thank for all your help. By the way Yooper, the "Humbucker" Double IPA was your Dogfish Head 60 Min IPA clone (my first IPA) that I brewed in April. I called it a "Double IPA" because the ABV was 7.8% and "Humbucker" fir the dual...

Outdoor Party - Beer Was a Hit!

We had a part yesterday to celebrate my daughter graduating from college. Sever 4 beers and 1 Apfelwein. It was a hit! People loved all of it and said I should go pro! LOL! If they only knew how much I have to learn! Made me feel good though and I'm very glad they enjoyed it.
