    Chrome coating is okay, BUT, what you need to do is use it in some plain water first to get the chrome to come off. Then you'll have copper. Don't put a brand new chrome element in your beer.     Thanks. That is what was meant, but I didn't draw it out enough. Absolutely, the highest temperature the beer sees before it hits the bottle or keg. But 9 out 10, your fermentation temp will get you most of the way home. Cheers.

    The amount of priming sugar you use is calculated by the highest temperature the beer reached during fermentation. That and desired volume of co2 will determine the amount of sugar you need per gallon/liter.

    Do you know the heat (kW?) output of your burner? I just checked the burner I used back when and it's rated 3.5 kW and that was enough, though slow to ramp up. If I recall, I used an heat stick to help it reach boil quicker.
