They give it a six month sell by date from manufacturing day. But They also state that once past that date, it is still quite viable and with the use of starter, it shouldn't be a problem after that date.

You didn't miss anything! I've just opened and so my initial order of yeast was for inventory. I need to place an order of 25 in order to get a price break, so the next order will be made upon getting enough preorders and selling enough out of the store to warrant placing the order. I have...

The Malt Shop is getting close to opening it doors (well, it's online, so, maybe "ports" is better) and we should have a basic selection of White Labs and hoping to have monthly ordering so you can get your personal selection in as well. I'm looking to have about 16 varieties of liquid and dry...

Here is my Dual Voltage BIAB Control

Great! I'm utilising the same idea. 110v to the element for mashing to keep it from scorching, switch to 220v for boil. Thanks for the diagram.

Mike, did you ever find your CO2 bottle? Usually you can snag one at a liquor store. You pay about 5000 for deposit and 2700-3000 for the contents. Just be aware that if you are planning to hook it up to a US regulator you'll need an trhead adaptor.

    Brewing with Walnut Wood

Shavings of black walnut are toxic to horses and dogs. That tells me enough that it's not for me to use it in a beer. Try cherry instead.

Perfecting My Brewing 3 Months at a Time

Every place you go, look up a local brewery and ask for work (even for free). Ask to do anything. You'd be surprised how much you'll learn.

May I ask why you used Starsan to clean and not vinegar?

Mixed up In/Out side of keg. Help!

If you swapped the disconnects, be very careful. The disconnect posts are slightly different in diameter. You may find that one of them is really stuck on there tight. Be prepared for possible breakage.

Well, the advantage of the bleach/vinegar, I thought, was that the addition of vinegar, besides increasing the killing power of bleach, also made the solution into a no rinse one. I could be wrong; it's been a long time since I listened to Charlie Talley. And this about bleach. You're right...

    Home brewing in Japan

Funny, whenever I've pitched the use of the bleach/vinegar on other threads here, some folks get very very upset because of the potentially dangerous mixing of the two and say it won't work. Even backing it up with Charlie's statement, the furor continued. But I still use it. My empty fermenter...

    Home brewing in Japan

Well, going by the title ”蒸留水”, I'm assuming it is indeed distilled water. As for taste, I'm not planning on drinking it. Just to keep my starsan happy and healthy! And, distilled vs R/O water: different process, nearly identical finish.

Brewer BierMuncher's Cream of 3 Crops Today - Question

Jiffster, gonna need a lot more info to diagnose. Temperature, yeast, etc. Rehydrate, sprinkle on wort? If it's 05, could take up to 36 hours. Give it time is the best answer I can give now.

That's at the top of my list from Morebeer! And... if you use it in spray form, it will last forever. Go to the homestore, get a 3ml plastic eyedropper (supoito in japanese). 3ml per 2 liters of waters. Then go to the 100 yen store, get a sprayer head which fits 500 ml pet bottles. Spray away...
