    Lager Fermentations - blow off tube?

    I needed a blow off tube for my oktoberfest in a 6.5 gallon carbon at 50 degrees. Id use it better safe than sorry.

    Cooler conversion to MT..

    i have the 50 qt coleman and i had to purchase a 2 1/2 nipple the coleman r pretty thick.. also am i the only one that thinks 70 qt is over kill?? you wont have any grain depth with a 70 i get a decent one with a 50 qt

    I think im gonna put my keggle in an ice bath and at the same time run my wort chiller and see if that helps ....thaks for all the great ideas!!

    Wouldn't the hot water coming off the output melt the ice in the cooler quick?

    How do I cool wort down faster?!

    So i live in Miami and I guess our water doesn't get cool enough to bring my wort temp down to pitching temp in a reasonable amount of time using a wort chiller. It takes about 40 mins to get it down to 80 and that's a lot of water going down the drain. What can I do to improve this?

    Would leaving it in the secondary for two months remove the tannins and protiens ?

    Well just checked SG after 2 weeks at 52 degrees and its at 1.019. Tried it too and it tastes amazing. So pericles your suggesting i put it in bottles now with priming sugar leave it at room temp for a couple weeks then put them in fridge at 35?
