Help with force carbonating a 2.5 gal keg

Thanks for the tips. I’d actually never heard of spunding until now. I wouldn’t necessarily want to have to monitor gravities too closely. Sounds like you have to have a pretty good idea about FG and time your transfer to keg pretty precisely. Is this true? Or is there some sort of easy...

Help with force carbonating a 2.5 gal keg

I haven’t started kegging yet but plan to soon. I brew in 2.5 gal batches so plan on getting one or two of those sleek Torpedo 2.5 gal kegs. I’ve seen a few force carbonating charts here and there but am not sure if those would still apply to a smaller keg. Does anyone have any experience with...

How many gallons brewed in 2019!

    1375 + 2.5 gal amber + 2.5 gal IPA + 2.5 gal red + 2.5 gal wee heavy = 1385

Made 3 starters to use at 3 different times from 1 dry yeast packet

I just want to make sure I'm not too far off here... I have planned the following brew days: wee heavy that I brewed yesterday, a porter that I will brew in about a week and a half, and a blonde ale that I will brew in 4 weeks. My styles and dates to brew are set and not much I can change...

Grain absorption and boil off numbers for 2.5 gal batches

My ‘mash’ efficiency is at 75% using the double crush method. I know that there’s additional crushing involved and not just grain falling through because it won’t move through the mill without turning it on...and stopping the mill results in the grain not moving. Just wasn’t sure if successive...

Grain absorption and boil off numbers for 2.5 gal batches

Ok so it sounds like I'm on the right track and some people are having pretty similar numbers to mine. My potential sparge would be to hold back about a half gallon or so, and once the mash is complete rinse the grains with that much hot water straight from the tap (I have really soft water)...

Grain absorption and boil off numbers for 2.5 gal batches

I’m pretty new to homebrewing and am now 2 batches in to BIAB. I use a 5 gal kettle and am doing full volume, no sparge batches of usually 2.75 gal into the fermenter (roughly 2.5 gal bottled). I was wondering if anyone else is doing something similar and what their grain absorption and boil off...

    Hello Fellow Washingtonians!!

Hey everyone! Just completed my first extract brew. Have been doing a lot of reading and lurking on forums. I’ve already bought supplies to convert to BIAB. I know I don’t have much experience but can already tell this is going to be an addiction! Would love to be a part of the local home brew...
