    New thermometer needed, which one?

Cheers guys. That Thermoworks definitely looks like it would do the job though. Is it fairly quick to register temps?

    New thermometer needed, which one?

Thanks day_trippr...I only need it for the mash. Was wondering if the stem on the Thermapen was even long enough.

    New thermometer needed, which one?

I had a digital that broke about a year ago so I've just been using the old floating standby. What are the best ones yall are using now?

You know you're a home brewer when?

You're willing to pay the electricity to run two fridges in the garage during the Texas summer but won't let your wife keep the inside temp where SHE wants

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Last year the creek behind our house flooded down here in Texas. I marked the occasion by using some limbs that made their way onto our property.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

And, by the way, not a single hop touched the beer commando, no yeast was transferred to keg, and this beer looked exactly the same from the first pour to the last. My brewing practices are sound...this is just what a crap ton of late hops give you. It's not just a style brewers are putting out...

Texas Brew Pubs near Downtown Austin, TX

+1 to chadzeros pinthouse recommendation. Downtown, easy tiger for sure. East 6th...hops and grain. Easy train ride to black star.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I know this thread has taken many different forms but the one thing that's stayed constant is sharing of results. To me, the NE style is hazy, juicy, low bitterness, high flavor and aroma, using a fairly consistent approach. Here's mine....still with some visual hoppiness but loaded with Galaxy...

    Mini Fridge Kegerator/Fermentation Chamber Idea

Hey yall...so I've got two 5.5 cf mini fridges. Both have been gutted of their shelves and door shelves. Freezers bent up and operating well. Johnson temp controllers for both. Considering space and $$$ constraints my plan is to stack the two. Fermentation on bottom. Kegs and CO2 up top with...

    KBS Secondary Question

I brewed a 3 gallon KBS clone recently and am approaching the end of fermentation. The Zymurgy recipe ages on the soaked oak chips and cold brewed coffee in secondary for a month or two. My question is....if i aged in primary for that same timeframe, will that produce any problems? I ask because...

    Stuck Fermentation w/ Mauribrew

I recently brewed an AG Milk Stout with an OG of 1.062. The recipe says I should have a FG of 1.015. Sweet. I live in Texas, so I've definitely had the obvious struggles of keeping a decent lower temperature for fermenting so I decided a while back to try the Mauribrew 514 Ale Yeast...
