    Fruit in secondary

I'm a bit of a noob myself but I'm in the middle of a strawberry wheat right now. There will be yeast left in suspension when you rack to your secondary that will eat the fruit sugars. Then after secondary prime and bottle as you normally would. I currently have another yeast cake at the bottom...

    Strawberry Wheat

10 days ago I racked half of my NB Amer. Wheat Extract kit onto strawberries. I was going to bottle tonight it tonight. It smells great but the strawberries are looking funky. I'm guessing they are fine and I wasn't even going to post but I figured I would double check to make sure they're...

    Started bottling. No caps

I didn't stir my first batch but had a nice syphon whirlpool going. No inconsistencies. I'm expecting them with this batch though. At least it was only 2.5 gal cause the other half was secondaried on strawberries. Will be bottling that this weekend I believe.

more capacity than 32 QT... but keep it narrow

Tiger chef has a 60 quart (15 gal) alum pot for $57. They are located in New York and shipping to me in western pa is only $12. Across the country to 90210 is under $18. The thickness is 4.33 mm (between 5-6 / 32nds inches. http://www.tigerchef.com/thunder-group-alsksp009-60-qt.html I'm...

    Started bottling. No caps

I just boiled my sugar water and started syphoning the beer onto it in my bottling bucket. No caps. This is a wheat beer extract from NB but I cold crashed it for the past 2 days to see if I could notice it being clearer than my first batch of this same beer. I figured when I bottled any yeast...

    WTB Barley Crusher

I believe it will. I can't find small enough bearings for a reasonable price shipped. I searched high and low for a good all around gap and .030 seems to be a good one. Cold roll is fairly cheap for the rollers. I could have cut cost by just using 1/8" plate for the sides and use the 1/2"...

    WTB Barley Crusher

I never understood what that meant until now. I may order some and see if he can adjust my drawing for them. I was just gonna use bronze oil impregnated bearings. Thank you!

    WTB Barley Crusher

I figured worst case I would spend 5-20 more dollars to have him make me a couple extra rollers that are bigger or smaller to get different gaps and then all i have to do is insert them. kind of a pain compared to the Barley crusher but I didn't have a clue how to make them adjustable. If...

    WTB Barley Crusher

2 1/4" rollers. 8" length made from cold rolled. Encased in 1/2" alum plate. Not adjustable :( but gap set at .030. I'm excited. Have only 2 extracts under my belt and I'm trying to cut as much of the upfront cost for all grain out
