I did. It tasted fine...no hint of contamination.

    Vintage Kegerator Project

It still works and works very well. Of 9 cooling levels, I had it set on 5. I set my fridge thermometer in it for a couple of hours and it was 39 degrees.

    I think the yeast died

I pitched my yeast on July 10. It was old and out of date but I thought I'd try it anyway. The airlock started bubbling after about 24 hous, but it only lasted 12 or so hours. Today when I moved the beer to the secondary fermenter, I tossed in the hydrometer to check FG. It hasn't moved from...

Drilled holes for the shanks this morning. Sanded the door and moved it into the paint booth but had to call it quits for a few hours.

    Vintage Kegerator Project

I purchased an old GE fridge this past Monday evening. It was built in 1956. In the realm of vintage fridges, I picked it up fairly cheaply...but it's got a bit of heavy rust here and there, and it had a dent in the door. Tuesday night, I scrubbed the inside and door. It cleaned up...

    Yeast starter dead?

When you say "make a starter", are you referring to soaking dry yeast in warm water for a few minutes?

    Yeast starter dead?

Not to hijack the thread here, but I've got a batch going right now. I'm using White Labs yeast, but it's a few months out of date. I read on their site that yeast can live for longer than their "use by" date, but that the lag time would increase...makes sense. My question is, should I go...

    Perlic faucet keeps dripping

When I have enough CO2 pressure on my keg for serving, the Perlic faucet keeps dripping. I cannot get it to quit. It starts off slowly and speeds up to nearly a really slow pour. Is there another faucet you guys would recommend? Something I can do to fix it? It's wasting beer!!
