    Furious Fermentation!

I am in the process of brewing my second batch, a Festa Brew Wheat Beer. Followed all the instructions. It took longer to start fermentation....started it on Saturday night and then maybe late Sunday started to notice the bubbling....then it went absolutely nuts! constant....foam started to...

    OG Question

I am brewing my second batch, a Festa Brew Wheat. The first time I brewed I didn't take an OG measure. This time, it is around 1.050. I am assuming that is normal?

    Festa Brew kits

Has anyone tried the Festa Brew kits. I purchased a Wheat kit today and was curious if anyone has had any experience with them.

    Two weeks in the bottle....

Ok. It seems a little sour and a little bitter. Almost like a wine....does seem pretty potent though.

    Two weeks in the bottle....

First time brewing, doing the Coopers Bavarian Lager. Have bottled and now have been in bottles for two weeks. My understanding is that it should be about good to go, but I understand also that the longer, couple of months, it will get even better. Do people normally try it after two weeks...

    Any advice on brewing kits?

I purchased the Cooper Microbrew kit and just bottled my first batch (a Bavarian Lager). It seemed pretty easy to use and they sent you everything you need. I will know better in a few weeks. :D

    Bottle Bombs?

I am brewing the Coopers Bavarian lager. Followed all the instructions with the exception that I used their basic sugar instead of the Brew Enhancer #1 (accidentailly added the wrong bag). I am told it shouldn't make too much of a difference.

    Bottle Bombs?

Ok, I think I am about ready to bottle my first batch. It is a Coopers Bavarian Lager. It has been in primary for 15 days, SG reading was just about 1.010 (maybe 1.009). I don't have the initial gravity, but a week ago it was at 1.014. Question - Should I have to worry about bottle bombs...

    Starting out with AG

I had a great aunt from Rochester. Over Brandon Gap, correct? Otter Creek has some nice beers, very small facility though and sometimes tough to get a "special" price on stock there. We sometimes pick up the growlers and bring them back to the lake. They aren't cheap though and don't want...

    Starting out with AG

Where is Mid-Vermont? We have a place on Lake Dunmore (outside Middlebury). Otter Creek has some really nice MicroBrews at their place.

First batch - Specific Gravity not low enough?

Measured at just about 1010 SG on day 12. Step in the right direction I guess. Primary fermentation actually smells better...more like beer. Is that normal to see a significant change in the odor through the airlock? Tasted the measure a bit and was much better than previously.:tank:

First batch - Specific Gravity not low enough?

For the Coorpers kit, I accidentially added the brewing sugar that came with the original kit (instead of the Brew enhancer 1 that came with the Bavarian Lager kit). From what I read, it isn't a major issue, maybe some difference in taste? It has been in the 11th day right now, I am hoping...

First batch - Specific Gravity not low enough?

Thanks. We'll keep an eye on it. I appreciate the tips. Rich.

First batch - Specific Gravity not low enough?

Thanks. I assume that if it drops, it will be a slow drop? What if it doesn't drop at all....or it will just needs a lot more time? It is currently about 20 degrees celsius, I brought a brew belt, but was reading that with the type of wort that it is better at a lower temperature and will be...

First batch - Specific Gravity not low enough?

I just started my first batch last week (8 days ago) with the Cooper's Home Brew kit. I am trying the Bavarian Lager. The SG is reading about 1.014 and the bubbling has stopped a couple of days ago. The reading yesterday was the same as the reading today. Instructions say I need to gbet...
