    Honey to an IPA

I would add Honey Malt instead. A small amount though. I have never had any real honey flavor come out with the addition of honey.

Miller Keg For Trade (So Cal)

I have a rubber coated Miller keg I am interested in trading for beer related items. It has not been cut or modified. I have all of the parts. The spear was previously removed and replaced. The seal ring has not been reinstalled though. The stores I have tried to return it to will not take...

    Over squeezing the BIAB

Squeeze. I have a large Colander that fits over a bucket. I let the bag drip over the kettle until it slows down enough to move to the colander. I set it in the colander and then press with the lid from my kettle. I usually get about 1 gallon or so out of it. I have done this with every...

BIAB: adding grains before heating water?

I guess you could do it it. I wonder if having the grain at a lower temp than you actually plan to mash at for a while as the temp is rising would create a thinner beer. Why are you considering this?

    Holy Hops Batman

I met Sean tonight. I bought 3 lbs. He is nice guy and it was a smooth transaction. He is going to be working overtime to package all of these up!

Stone IPA Clone Comparison - You pick the real one!

I realize that the recipe is posted several times within this thread. It would be great though if it could be added to the first post to stop the hunting game. Thanks

American Amber Ale Broken Leg House Amber

OK. To the point. I like it and I will do it again. I am glad I did it. Useless rambling: I was not initially impressed by the samples I took at bottling or when I dry hopped. Because I am an impatient weenie, I started to drink these at about 5 days in the bottle. I continued drinking...

Lip Service - I know, another rant

I think a lot of brewers think that people are not sure what beer is supposed to taste like. Every beer I have given my dad he thinks is terrible. Every beer I have ever bought for my dad at a pub he thinks is terrible. He just does not know what beer is supposed to be like. He is not a drinker...

American Amber Ale Broken Leg House Amber

Ok, 1 week in the fermentor, I just added the dry hop additions, and I am at 1.016, down from OG of 1.054. 1 more week until bottling.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I was not sure where to post this so I thought I would pollute this thread with my dumb question. I brewed this beer, I had 4 gallons in my fermentor and was a bit over 1.040. So I thought I would top it up to 5 gallons. I ended up with 5 gallons of 1.036 in the fermentor. It fermented...

American Amber Ale Broken Leg House Amber

Has anyone else brewed this yet? What were your results? I have the materials and will be going for it. I just wanted to see how it has turned out for others. :)

    Mixed-Style Beer Orange Kolsch (AG/EX)

I totally screwed this up. Yeah yeah, relax... I brewed a five gallon batch and accidentally put a whole pound of flaked wheat into it. What can I expect to happen here? Thanks.

How long to "Crushed" grains keep

What about at a warm, 80+ degrees for 2 weeks in a paper bag. I know it may sound ridiculous. I crushed and then got super busy. They have been sitting in my a cupboard in my garage.

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

Stater Brothers, or a large grocery store would have them. Just ask at the store.

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

For the record, those Lowes curtains are cheaper than what paid for one yard at the local Joanne's Crafts.
