    To pay or not to pay. That is my question

    I agree with the comments of having them get the ingredients for you and help you brew it. Giving a few beers away to friends is one thing, but brewing a full batch of beer...not so much. I don't just give friends $30-$40...at least not until I win the lotto.

    I would be curious to see if drinking a non alcoholic beer would have the same effect? Even though there is trace amounts of alcohol in it if I understand correctly.

    12 oz and 24 oz bottles

    I went to the local recycling place last Sunday and there was a dumpster full of glass brown bottles. They also had a dumpster full of greens too, but obviously I didn't worry about those.     removing labels made simple

    +1 for oxyclean and let them soak. Most come right off. the tougher ones just require a wash cloth and wipe the residue off. I heard somewhere that oxyclean once mixed is only active for about 6 hours. I usually just let mine soak for a few hours and go for it.

    Chest freezer can't keep up

    To me, it makes sense that the fermentation would generate the heat. Your freezer could be at 67*, but your fermenting beer could be 71*. What is the external temperature where you are at?

    Brew Pot Question

    I believe you have to first get an oxydization layer on the aluminum. I would read about it more before you do your first batch. i think it is just boiling water till it daekens I could be wrong though.
