Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

On a more amusing note.. if I was a drug lord or lived in Tijuana I'd have to have one of these. Those are .45 caliber dents.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

    4. They are a fraction of the cost to fuel per mile. 5. Maintenance is almost nil with overall cost of ownership lower. 6. Faster, quieter and more fun to drive. (ok that is subjective) 7. Far lower lifetime emissions no matter where your electricity comes from. 8. Fuel-able at home with...

He and others pay mine too and I really do appreciate that.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

You just saw this thread though I get the impression didn't read it before hitting us with all the old tired anti EV memes. Anyway I'll take the first one because it's my favorite of all the horribly incorrect information regarding batteries in electric cars. And that is: You are statistically...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I'm always surprised by the number of edge cases in any discussion of electric vehicles vs ICEV online. From what I read almost daily it would seem the vast majority of drivers are pushing to the extreme far (or near side) of their vehicles operating envelopes such that what used to be unusual...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

If that is the case your friend is mostly interested in time savings then he indeed is not taking all the proper factors into account. Since 95% or more of charging is done at home and said charging takes 30 seconds or less to plug/unplug in the car, added up he is without a doubt wasting more...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Being a smart guy has he factored in the vast difference in price between ICE and EV fueling? Time is money and if you have to spend more hours at work to pay the difference are you really any time ahead? I would rather spend that extra time at the charger maybe also having something to eat...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

In six years of driving a Tesla I've never personally seen ICE'ing and never a completely full supercharger lot either. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe most of the rumors are just more FUD to scare people from transitioning. On another topic, it was kind of a milestone day here as I had to do the...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

If I was driving the blue car I would have just taken that first left due to the utter embarrassment.

    Question on grain storage

For very long term storage I also use old corny kegs. Fill with the grain and purge backward through the out post in through the dip tube with CO2, vent through the pressure relief and you have grain that will survive longer than you.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I don't think either GM or Stellantis are going to make it. Ford is more likely since they actually seem serious about the future and electric vehicles.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I was more looking at the US averages. The data says of all the electric cars sold here this year 300 miles was the average range. The top 10 are all over 300 with Lucid leading the pack at 516 miles. Sure I understand you are looking at things through a GM lens which is probably why the post...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

But lets be honest the 250 mile range with scarce charging stations is already 5 or more years ago technology. Range today is 300 and this average includes cars not really meant for long road trips which means there are other cars that will do much longer. Also other brands have access to many...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I don't understand the edge case reasoning either. For the capability to drive a very long distance that one time in the -20 weather, with only a 10 minute stop. Then for the rest of the years of ownership you are going to pay 3-5 times the fuel cost, multiple times the maintenance plus...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

If you buy the wrong brand of car with short range and a poor charging network then you will probably have a problem. I have zero issues road tripping in my Tesla because superchargers are everywhere, the range is long, it charges fast and I even get the electricity for free. The moral of this...

    Residential solar in 2023

We've had solar since 2010 and been through some pretty bad storms, one with hail so big it punched holes in the roof, but never lost a panel. Also haven't had any problems with any parts of the system including string inverters. Not having any shade complications string inverters are also more...

Why micro inverters vs a single.. do you have shading issues?

    My Hop Harvest 2023

Judging by the look of your hops you picked a few weeks too late. Really don't want any brown, partly brown or faded looking ones.

That sour taste... from GUINNES... how to get it?

The third approach is rather stupid. Just leaving wort sitting around for three days is asking for trouble. No specific inoculant, no temperature control, no pre adjusting the pH to avoid nasties. Simply hoping what ever falls out of the air into the wort is lacto shows a complete lack of...

    That German Lager taste

As was mentioned in the video pressure sanitizing the jars isn't necessary but you will want to sanitize them well if not. You can also rig a crockpot or some other electric cooker into a waterbath with an inkbird for temp control. Make a little cone hat top from reflectix for more clearance...
