    Redhook Mud Slinger

I was only drinking this for about three weeks. I decided to pick up a 12 pack and ended up finishing it off in one night with some buddies. We even made a brown ale. I haven't had any since. But I still love it! I have since switched to copperhook which just came out.

Oh sweet, thanks for the help. Beersmith said 21.25 quarts and I watched some videos. Should be pretty easy and makes sense now. :)

    Just Another Brew Day...(Pics)

I am going to attempt this for my First AG. Seems like a way to go. I have beersmith and fumbling my way around with it. So from my understanding, mash in at 155f and sparge at 170f. Here is my question after reading tons and tons about AG. Oh, I also have just completed my first Partial Mash...

Where to get Pliny The Elder/Younger in Seattle/West Seatte?

Take a tour of redhook brewery in woodinville! A lot of the harder to find beers can be found at these natural food markets. http://www.pccnaturalmarkets.com We also have beer stores for super hard to find beers, http://www.bigstarbeers.com This one is quite good. Also make sure you get over...

    Who uses Wyeast a lot?

Yup, We have had some crazy swelling smack packs and some almost to no swelling smack packs, We have hit all of our F.G's with all 7 wyeast liquid yeasts we have used. The only way to tell is to pitch it and get a reading. When we were new to home brewing we thought we got bad yeast, it was...

    Sampler Glasses

I got a few tasting glasses from a local brewery tour. 2 free glasses and I bought the other 2 I wanted. They do have redhook printed on them, but I like redhook. You should check local breweries.

    Outdoor Brewing Smell

This will be your biggest worry right here, not your neighbors. We could only use "gas" type bbq's on the first floor patios, but when a fire was set to an apartment building the next city over they made everyone stop using any and all bbq's and had to grill down by the pool with the built in...

    Proper Storage of Apfelwein

Since your NOT carbonating. I would go buy some glass growlers like I did. Same idea as wine bottles, just screw on lids. My apfelwein skept well in the fridge for a few weeks while we drank it. For long term storage, I would look at getting some grolsch (flip top) bottles and bottling it off. I...

    Kegerator or Keezer

I had this same dilemma. Minus the having to walk farther for either one. I went Keezer because a 7.0 cu ft. freezer is not really that bad to put in a corner and since I brew pretty regularly, I can LAGER! :) Lagering a carboy and having 2 corny's in it was a HUGGGEEEEE deciding factor for me.

The Only Negative Thing About Being A NW Brewer

This is why I brew also. I find myself trying to be more inventive or creative because we have such a huge selection up here. We can practically get any style of beer we want. I tend to brew ones I really like and can't find. Most of my beer snob buddies really enjoy what I have to offer...

    monk beer causes violence

It is estimated that Scots spend £50,000 a day on the drink, which is variously known as “bottle of beat the wife”, “liquid speed” and “wreck the hoose juice”. LOL Nice find on that article. Seems like the monks are becoming a scape goat.

    Apfelwein and Cider going

The smell is normal, The SWMBO was mad because the smell lasted 3 days and was creeping out of the closet and under the door from the second bedroom. haha My apfelwein is just now 5 weeks old and is excellent still, I bottled the rest and carbing them. I can't wait! :mug:
