    Please boycott BP

This is the PERFECT time to buy up shares of BP. They are at $31.98 as I type this. I stocked up. When this mess gets cleaned up (and it will) and when some other disaster has our interest (and it will) and after Americans have forgotten all about this (and they will) and the Gulf shoreline...

    Dry Hop Jamil's ESB???

Do it. I did it for this Best Bitter and it turned out great! I was planning to enter it into a competition... but it didn't last long enough.;)

Anyone tried using breakfast cereal in the mash?

BYO had an article recently using several breakfast cereals. Corn flakes worked very well in a CAP the did. In fact, I plan to sub either those or grits for flaked corn in my next cream ale. http://www.byo.com/store?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=116&category_id=23

    Campden tablet misinformation?

Same size - 2 oz. Pic really helps make it clear, though. Good thinking on posting it!

    Can murdering neighbors be legalized?

Agreed. Nothing more needs to be said. 7:30am on a Saturday is far too early. At least wait until 9:00am!

    Help improving a milk stout

IMO, one lb. of lactose in a 5gal. batch is not enough in a Stout. I think if you up it to 1.5lbs. you'll notice a difference. I did and it improved the mouthfeel.

Worst Brew Week Ever! (this is me venting)

Band-aid flavors are usually related to chlorine in your water: http://www.howtobrew.com/section4/chapter21-2.html

I have a new favorite beer

Here it is. Keep in mind this is for a ten gal. batch and a decoction mash. But I have brewed it many times before as a single infusion of 1.25qt./lb. at ~150oF and it was great. Recipe: Dortmunder Pretzel Munchin' Beer Brewer: Rhoobarb Asst Brewer: Mrs. Rhoobarb Style: Dortmunder Export...

I have a new favorite beer

It's one of the best examples of a Dortmunder available. It is even listed as an example in the BJCP guidelines. I have a pretty close recipe I should post. Will try and do that this weekend.

What's the longest you've had airlock activity?

Got an American Pale Ale that's on day 13 and will likely not finish completely for 4-7 more days. And this was pitched on top of a very healthy yeast slurry. No worries. Hefe's generally ferment out pretty fast, but yeast and temp come into play.

    Brew Your Own

I like it. If you can ready this, you need to have another homebrew.

    Altbier recipe critique (all-grain)

I'd sub Pils for the Vienna. Also, Spalt hops in the finish. I have an Alt in my drop down menu that uses Saaz in the finish, which is a good choice. But I plan to use Spalt next time I brew it. Most Alts use Spalt and, IMHO, it ain't an Dusseldorf Alt w/out it. That said, use some...

    Ordinary Bitter Mister Mertz's Bitter

This was my attempt to clone Timothy Taylor's Landlord. I have never tasted TTL, but it just sounded so good from all I had read about it. This version went quickly at our house. How quickly? Well, I kegged it April 27th and forced carbed it. Pulled the first pint six days later on May 1st and...

    Lambert's Cafe Sucks

Lamberts' is great, especially for the cost. Somebody mentioned $10 per plate being expensive? Are you nuts?! You can't even eat at any of the craptacular meals at McDonald's for under $6-8 anymore. The wife and I are looking forward to stopping there on our way back from Texas week after...

50 beers to try before you die

Please help me win a bet! :)

Yeah, what happened? I hope you didn't piss off the old man to the point that he went all Marvin Gaye on you!

    Ballentine IPA

Wow, that's cool! Thanks. If I had a Doc Brown DeLorean Time Machine, I'd travel back just to try beers from different eras to see how they really tasted back then. This is one I'd seek out. Looking to brew this mid-summer.

    Watch Big Bang Theory?

Lorre has been doing this for all of his shows. IIRC, it started w/ the not-so-great Dharma & Greg. I like 2-1/2 Men, can't get into BBT.
