72 pixels equal one inch at screen view. So, for an ordinary low tech look I'd at least go 280x280 roughly = 4" x 4"

I've done a few designs for others on here and had a few minutes to goof off today. What do you think of the the following rough design?

Buy new brewing supplies or not?

Thanks. I know the "expiration date" question gets answered a lot on here, so I appreciated the specific feedback.

Buy new brewing supplies or not?

Ha. Very true. More worried about the hop flavor than anything. I'm not worried about the exact IBU's so maybe increasing the hops by 50% in a trial brew? Grains were in sealed packaging inside of an airtight sealed container. Hops were just inside the airtight container and I did reseal the...

Buy new brewing supplies or not?

Entering 2010 I had some big plans to brew 2 batches a month and purchased 8 pounds of hops and unmilled grain for up to 10 recipes accordingly. As we all know, the best laid plans always go awry. For family and work, I was out of town from early May through late August. Because I work in...

American Brown Ale Elk Drool Brown Ale

After 17 days in primary I just took my first sample. Delicious! Will probably just leave it there instead of going to secondary. I ended up with only 4.75 gallons in primary, so my OG was higher at 1.065. Final gravity is at 1.011. I used Wyeast 1272 - American Ale II as my yeast and very...

wyeast 1272 american ale II or rogue pacman for brown ale

Yes and no. I'm just trying to use a yeast that I have on hand to get the job done. I'm not trying to make an exact replica of Moose Drool, just something not too dissimilar.

wyeast 1272 american ale II or rogue pacman for brown ale

Went with the 1272. Using washed yeast from an IPA I had brewed earlier this month. Really, really liked how it turned out and think the yeast will be an interesting addition to the Brown Ale.

    Politicians that brew?

John Hickenlooper, current mayor of Denver and candidate for Colorado Governor, co-founded Wynkoop Brewing in the 1980's. I don't think he is involved with the restaurant or bar anymore.

wyeast 1272 american ale II or rogue pacman for brown ale

brewing a moose drool brown ale clone tonight. Do I go with the American Ale II or the Pacman yeast? Thoughts?

Pitch onto 5 day old yeast cake or make starter?

Forgot to add, does the fact that it is a top cropping yeast (american ale II 1272) make a difference?

Pitch onto 5 day old yeast cake or make starter?

I'm in the same position because my brew day cancelled for an out of town emergency. Now that I'm back I plan to brew on Wednesday and want to use a yeast cake I sealed up last Thursday night. There is about 1/2" of beer on top of that yeast cake. Should I just get a starter going tonight from...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

I also get 78-80% efficiency with a double batch sparge from the BMW crush. And... I mash in a bag in my bottling bucket (just use lots of blankets to trap the heat). Every brew has received very positive comments.

This is a great beer. Thanks for the recipe!

    Decoction Mash Video

Six weeks after doing my first decoction mash I would say that I'm pretty happy with my Belgian Wit. I will say that the process took considerably longer than I anticipated. But that was due to my unfamiliarity with it. By the end of the boil I forgot to add my orange zest and coriander! It's...

    Missing wife/mother

My heart goes out to you. My sister-in-law has the same issues and it has been very frightening the two times she has ended up missing. The last occurrence was a few years ago and she was found watching TV in some random stranger's house in the suburbs of Milwaukee. It could have been a lot...

Witbier Hoegaarden Witbier Clone - Pierre Celis White

Bottled this last week after two weeks in secondary and just tasted a sample. Very good clone, a little strong on the coriander at this point but I expect that will subside with some time. My beers don't seem to hit their stride until after two months. This will be great in late April and...
