    El Dorado Hops

I used El Dorado with Cascade and did not really like the combination. To me (just my opinion) El Dorado is fruity while Cascade is Grapefruit. I just didn't like the combination.

de-carbing for nitro? keg already carbed to 12psi

You should be good. Nitro is really a blend of CO2 and N2 so you are right where you want to be. You'll just switch it over to the higher pressure beer gas.

    Best Small Pressurizable Fermenter?

Yes I dry hop it using a hop screen ball type thing. I hang a couple ounces in the liquid just a couple inches in using dental floss. It will be out of the liquid after I drink a few pints so it does not give off grassy notes sitting in the liquid for weeks. I usually fill it to 4.5 gallons...

    Best Small Pressurizable Fermenter?

Another vote for corny kegs. I just added the floating dip tube to mine and I’m serving my latest ipa from the fermenter. So easy. I also use a blow off on the gas out for the first three or four days and replace with the gas post once the Krausen drops a tad. Spunding valve after that and I was...

    Garage fermentation temp control

You can use a fermwrap with an inkbird controller for heating in the winter. Wrap your fermenter with some sort of insulation. You can use a system like this to cool in the summer months and all is fairly inexpensive and does not take up much space...

Anyone use the Ball and Keg Temperature Control Coil?

I've been using the ballandkeg unit for a while and it is way more responsive than I thought it would be. I could get 10 degrees or more per hour cooling when I initially turned on my pump. I usually cool my wort to 80 or 90 degrees with a wort chiller in the summer and then use this to finish...

Anyone use the Ball and Keg Temperature Control Coil?

I have been using two of their systems on fermenters for more than a year now. I can easily control fermentation temps down to lager temps in my house at 75 degrees in the summer. You do need to insulate your fermenter with an old blanket or a couple towels. I use a small Styrofoam cooler...

    Force carbonating in fermentation keg

You can do it without a floating diptube if you dry hop in a mesh bag or canister and you cut an inch off your diptube. I do it all the time with my IPA's. It's so easy I've gone to doing it with other beers and ciders. It does take a few pours to get to the clear beer after cold crashing. I...

Buckets Vs Carboys Vs Conicals, Vs Everything else

I've gone to kegs for all my hoppy beers. You can do 4 plus gallons with a little fermcap. I typically cover the opening with foil for the first three days to be safe and then add the lid when it just starts to slow. I don't use a floating diptube, but I did cut off the diptube an inch or so...

New Tripel got a little solventy.... check my process?

I’d give it some time. Those can age for a couple months before they come into their own

How to keep fermenter at right temperature during the Summer

If you can’t fit a dorm fridge or something else like that in your space or budget, I like something like this that can be controlled. For about the same price as a Cool brewing bag you can get precise control. I have two of them so I can do multiple fermentation’s at different temps...

    Imperial Stouts and Fermentation

You can also add a few ounces of Black Patent malt to add deep color without any burnt flavor. I love it in my Porters and Stouts. To answer your second question, I would definitely skip the secondary altogether and bottle after 3 weeks in Primary. Age in bottles for sure.

Anyone ever put new wort in just drained fermentor?

Yes you're fine if you've removed most of the yeast. I do it quite frequently.

Hopping in the keg for increased hop flave?

Do this, I've done it and it works to balance sweetness.

Conical in Upright Freezer vs External Glycol Chiller pros/cons/cost

I think the decision may hinge on whether you ever want to ferment 2 or more at different temps at the same time. If you only do one at a time, all the time, the upright is probably going to be more economical. You may even find something used. If you ever want to do two or more at the same...

    Yes, no starter needed imo

POSSIBLE NEW PRODUCT FOR CORNY KEGS

As others have stated, the ballandkeg product is less than $20 if you buy more than one so you would need to compete with that. I have five of those that stay permanently in kegs through cleaning, sanitizing etc. They are accurate right down to a glass and give a reliable measurement.

    HAZY IPA coming out dark

I'd look at your autosiphon if you make another batch before you go to a conical. They are notorious for leaking (sucking) air in around the plunger. I ruined a few batches before I found it. You can test yours by siphoning some water from a bucket into a clear container. If you see any...
