    How to use mash leavin's?

You could... Boil it down to a smaller batch instead of adding extract. Or do both and make a 1gal batch or Barley Wine. I have seen some posts on something like a Black IPA. You could use a wheat yeast and do something like a Dunkelweizen. I think it would have been easier to brew 2 base malt...

    Recipe suggestions based on inventory

Yea the honey, brown sugar and coconut are just some stuff I was given at work and I figured why bake with it if I can Brew with it. I've done a few cysers and wines with leftovers from the restaurant business. As for styles, I've done English Brown, All Cascade Pale Ale, Strawberry Blonde Ale...

    First Brown Ale

Are you going for an Imperial Brown Ale? I am drinking my first brown now. I used 5.5lbs mixed DME/LME 8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt 60L 4.0 oz Chocolate 350srm 6.0 oz Carapils/Dextrine 1 lb Honey Comes to 1.051 at 5.5%abv and seems pretty dark and malty tasting for a brown. Your recipe is...

    Recipe suggestions based on inventory

Regular cooking web sites can do this but for some reason we don't have a brewing site that will. As an excited and grateful recipient of the 2011 Pay it Forward thread I received a package of mixed specialty grains. Being a newer brewer I am unsure what types of recipes some of them are good...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Thinking of going with Lonesome Llama Brewing. I'm new to this state and I brew alone so is kinds fits. But then there is the JLB. There are 4 generations of us with those initials so that might work. And with the last name of Box it should be easier but I can't think of anything using it...

how to decorate top/botton fridge to kegerator build

Side mount, yes. Here is one. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/show-us-your-kegerator-29053/#post352989 As for skinning or other design. I have always liked the "built-in" look. Making it look like a piece of furniture or as if it was built into the wall.

    growlers

I have seen it done with twist off like bottle caps or 2 liter caps but not with mason jar type lids. I wasn't sure which you were referring to when you said jugs as I have 1/2gal mason jars I use for starters.

    English Brown Ale

I agree with Yooper, although mine came out a bit less bitter and more sweet than a Newcastle. Maybe my partial boil or higher ferment temps. 68-70

Timing on Brewer's Best English Brown Ale?

Looks like you and I are on the same page. I brewed this kit on 11/19/11 Primary for 16days, cold crash for 1 day in fridge, bottled and had decent carb in a week and tastes pretty damn good. Can't wait to see what it turns into in a month. I agree with BG on leaving it in primary for extended...

Designing Great Beers book up for trade...

FYI.... USPS has an option called Media Mail. Cheaper charges for "educational materials". So it would be like $3. https://www.usps.com/send/media-mail.htm
