    Most overrated high priced beers

Rogue beers. I love'em and all but 10.99+dep for a sixer is dumb. I only live an hour and a half from the brewery.

What's your favorite "big" commercial beer?

Rogue Old Crustacean, Stone Old Guardian is pretty damn good too as long as they have some age on them. Although not a big beer I have to mention Deschutes Obsidian Stout, absolutely delicious.

Whats the strangest thing you ever found in your beer?

I once found a fly in a can of Busch Light.

What is your least favorite part of the brewing process

Thinking of Moving to Oregon for beer. Looking for Advice

I've seen ads for jobs at Pyramid in Hood River on Craigslist a couple of times in the past few months. But yeah, the unemployment thing is a bit out of control here, I haven't worked since October. :(

Oh LORD have mercy! How clean does my carboy have to be?

You could also try some hot water and rock salt to remove stubborn chunkies. The salt works great as an abrasive and all it takes is some swirling of water.

    Broken Shoots!

Hmmm...have your checked for any signs of insects eating the stems? Any signs of fungus? Where on the stem is this occurring relative to the soil line? What has your weather been like?

    Any tips on welding stainless?

I second the the TIG action. I'm no expert welder, my knowledge is in machining for the most part, but I have worked with many journeymen welders and I do know that when it came time to weld stainless the TIG welder came out.

+1 to the 10gal MLT. I have only 4 AG batches under my belt but am already fixing to upgrade.

    My first batch

F***kin' Amateur! JK. Sorry I couldn't resist the Big Lebowski reference. Congrats on your first brew! I only started brewing about 6 months ago myself and I hope you find the same amount of satisfaction in drinking your own brews as I do.

    Wild beer roll call

I have just bottled about 2 gallons of a wild SMaSH. I used 4.5lbs MO and .55oz of Pearle (8.0%). I had an OG of 1.063 and an FG of 1.012. So far I am very pleased with the results, there is a mellow sourness at first that yields to the malt character in the finish. Very good IMO so far, we'll...

    should I cultivate wild yeast?

I would say go ahead with the test batch. My landlords operate a dairy and I frequently have cows, and everything that comes with them, just on the other side of the fence. I just bottled my first beer fermented with wild yeast and I am very excited about it, it has a slight sour character at...

    SMaSH Recipe Help

I have recently captured some wild yeast and would like to give it a go. I was thinking that a SMaSH recipe would be best because of the simplicity it would be easier evaluate the yeast. I would like suggestions on what to brew as I am still fairly new to brewing. I have the following hops on...
