    Co2 refills in MINUTES

I just wanted to drop a line about the great experience I had getting my new Co2 tank filled. I've read horror stories about finding where to go, being handed back a crappy tank after buying/bringing in a new tank, or being forced to drop off a tank overnight. After a few days of calling around...

8.4% & Carbonating INSIDE the carboy?

Because our town water is so bad, I have to either spend hours waiting for my brita filter, or buy distilled. The Spring water around here is just as bad. Tastes like you are drinking pool water.

8.4% & Carbonating INSIDE the carboy?

I do a full 5 gallon boil using distilled water only. Then I add whatever I need to top it off in my primary. Just normal "Market Basket" Clover Honey. It's a cheap generic brand. :drunk: It's what I always use. I'm just confussled.

8.4% & Carbonating INSIDE the carboy?

I almost always add honey to my wort. I like how it thins the brew up a bit, adds alcohol %'s, and adds clarity. I was making an extract brew using an american wheat kit (True Brew). I added two pounds of honey as I usually do. This time, one for the whole boil, and one pound with 15 minutes...

    Where to find co2 locally?

I can't believe that no one has mentioned paintball! After weeks of looking around to the usual places, I realized that there was a paintball store two miles from my house. If they are a distributor to larger companies (like farms for play) they should be able to hook you up.

Can you keg without a refrigerator? (plus another question)

THIS is what you should pay for a keg! http://www.stewartsplace.com/3.html Or Ebay. You can get a new keg for 91. Used for cheaper. Pony taps, etc. Good luck!

Champagne Yeast- maybe a stupid question

By the time you rack into your secondary, most of your sugars have been eaten up. The champagne yeast wouldn't have much to eat, so it seems a little pointless to me. Why not in the primary? Is there somewhere that says that we can't put two different kinds of yeast in the primary at the same...

    Best Kits?

http://stores.ebay.com/Homebrewer-Supply No, I don't work for ebay or this store. It's just the freshest damn supplies you'll EVER find. And what a beer these kits make! Adjucts and everything.

    Cider VS Juice

**Usually** Cider has more 'stuff' in it and gives you a higher gravity. So the potential alcohol levels are higher. As long as you use two fermentors, like with beer, most/all the extra sediment settles and isn't transfered to your secondary. You're more likely to get a bite with apple...

Carbonating cider ? Any against it?

If I used a champagne yeast, I definetly carbonate it. It adds a touch of sweetness without the extra sugars. But I LOVE Champagne more than most beer. (commercial, that is!) Think about the people who may be 'helping' you drink your cider. Are they wine people? If so, what kind of wine...

What do you use to stain your wort?

I use a metal strainer and/or a cheese cloth. There is nothing better in this world for straining than cheese cloth! You can also tie up your hops etc in the cheese cloth like a hop bag then you wouldn't have to strain at all.:drunk:

    Lup's Labels

It's a gorgeous label you have there! I'm concerned that all of your lovely dots will not come out the way you want. You're gonna need one hell of a good printer to pick up all those little dots and not have them look 'blobby'. So freakin' cool though! :D

Home made labels don't work - help needed

For the money, you can't go wrong with spraying Clear Model spray. Any hobby store that sells model metal cars or little guys to paint up for Role playing has it. Spray two coats on and don't touch it till the next day. I work at a label company, and we'll use it for 'Bayer' Diagnostic to...

    Label adhesives

Rubber glues don't dry as flat as you'd like them too. For sweating bottles, you wanna use good old fashioned water based white glue like elmers. This way you can soak them, and the glue will come right off too. Also, the clear spray on your bottles is a great idea too. It'll give them that...

    Test Labels by Mindflux

Thing is, it's just a cartoon, people. Lighten up! It's not like he went out and filmed some horrible crime. Cartoons are the ultimate escapist art. I love it, and I have 4 cats & 24 fish. What size will it be? You must have really big bottles with how wide it appears here. But then...

    Token's Dead Squirrel Fermentables

Token is a black, blobby kitty with huge, scary eyes. So I was going for that kind of simple/scary eyes premise. But I'm going to make the title pop a little more with lighter font. When the artroom gets ahold of it, it'll have less of that grainy look. Thanks for the input! Primary...

    Token's Dead Squirrel Fermentables

Thanks. Luckily, I work at a pressure sensitive label company who will run them off for me. I plan on slipping a couple of bottles into everyone's gift baskets this year. Primary: Pumpkin Wheat Ale Secondary: Cranberry Cider Bottled: Honey Wheat Ale (yummy first try!)
