    Ok to bottle with these?

I received these bottles with a whole batch of flip top bottles I bought from someone and I'm wondering if they're OK to bottle with? The guy I bought them from said he used them but I just want to make sure. Does anyone know the origin of these and if they're OK to use?

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

I brewed this on Sunday and it smelled fantastic! I love a good pumpkin ale and I'm excited about this recipe. Thanks RenoEnvy for posting this and all the feedback and comments everyone has provided. Now the patience waiting game..... My lauter took forever despite the 3/4 pounds of rice hulls...

Dry Hopped Barley Wine To Early?

Hmmmm, I've never heard of re-using dryhops for the bittering hops. It will be a week in there this weekend so I'll probably pull them on Sunday. I most likely won't be brewing again for a couple weeks do you think I can freeze them and still re-use? How would this affect the Alpha & Beta acids...

Dry Hopped Barley Wine To Early?

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm going to pull the hops and let it age for 4-6 months, dry hop again and then bottle it. Thanks again. I love having HBT to bounce ideas off of :mug:

Dry Hopped Barley Wine To Early?

I can see that I probably shouldn't have dry hopped right now. What do you suggest I do? They've only been in there for about 4 day. Should I pull them and then let this baby sit for at least 4 months before dry hopping again? What do you think about the FG? Thanks!

Dry Hopped Barley Wine To Early?

So I brewed the Avery Hog Heaven barleywine about a month ago and instead of pitching the recommended WLP001 yeast I pitched it onto a cake Wyeast 1098. Est OG was 1.097, I hit 1.096. The est FG was supposed to be 1.024 but I only hit 1.030. It was a very active fermentation for about a week...

First Recipe Creation - APA, input?

Great suggestions. I think I'll drop the cara and crystal down to 1/2lb each and throw in a 1/2lb of biscuit to give the malt a little more character. Hopper would you add the Cascades with the Willamette or in place of? Rice hulls, I know, I just always add enough to cover the braid in my MT...

First Recipe Creation - APA, input?

So I'm finally comfortable enough in my brewing that I'm taking a stab at creating my own recipe. I'm using ingredients that I have on hand so I'm trying to work with some hops that I already have. I think I'm within range of the style but I've never used Willamette before and I'm wondering if...

    Another Corona Mill Setup

Thanks Tiber. I loved making drums, I just don't have the time anymore. Especially now that I try to brew every chance I get!

    Another Corona Mill Setup

I definitely stole some ideas from Revy's thread and mixed them with my own. I completed the box a couple weeks ago but finally put it into action last week for a Barleywine. 20 lbs hand cranking in the hot sun, sweating for my beer! Here's the finished box. It's on 3 casters so it will always...

American Barleywine pitch to British Ale cake?

The yeast is Wyeast 1098. Thanks for the detailed response. I think I'm going to go ahead and give it a try. I'll just rock it every once in awhile and keep an eye out for a stuck gravity reading. I racked the British cake yesterday and I plan on brewing tomorrow; do you think it will be OK...

American Barleywine pitch to British Ale cake?

I just racked off of a British brown ale and have a nice cake I could pitch my American Barleywine onto but I'm not sure if I should. Would this be appropriate? What should I expect from it rather than using the WL001 California Ale yeast I was going to make a starter with? This is my first...

    Is this the Corona Mill?

I replaced the cotter pin with a screw but it was still loose so I used a rubber hose gasket to put between the "nut" and plate, then squished it until I could squeeze the screw in the hole and now it fits very snug in place. Here's a pic:

    Is this the Corona Mill?

I'm about 20 pages into the Ugly Junk thread. Good stuff! I used my mill this weekend after adding the washers and replacing the kog pin. The crushed looked great; far better then my LHBS's crush. Ended up with 81% mash efficiency; the best I've ever had! Really appreciate all the great info...

    Is this the Corona Mill?

Ordered it today with Amazon Prime free shipping and I should have it on my doorstep sometime on Friday. Looking forward to grinding my own grain. Now to do some research on a bigger hopper build and station for it. Thanks again everybody. :mug:
