When do you remove your aroma hops?

Here is what I observed recently: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/double-batch-results-158921/ Maybe someone can correct me but I think that leaving the hops in the fermenter, at least for a significant late addition (5min), will increase the hop bitterness and aroma.

    holding autosyphon?

Thanks for the ideas. I was hoping for something like a test tube holder that would attach to a bucket.

    holding autosyphon?

I know this seems kind of basic but are there any tricks to holding or somehow supporting an autosyphon during transfer? I seem to either disturb the whirlpool in the boil kettle or knock stuff of the side of the fermenter. Thanks, Steven

    Concentrated All Grain Boil

I did it. Search for brewing half a double batch. I will try to post the links. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/brewing-half-double-batch-153702/ https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/double-batch-results-158921/ The recipe was BierMunchers Centennial Blond. Most people enjoyed one or...

    Consistent fermentation with analog thermostat

Are you talking about a regular old mercury bulb thermostat? If so, I don't think there is any option for remote temperature monitoring. One option is to mount it in the freezer about halfway up your fermenter and use it to control a 120V relay to cycle the compressor. Test it with water...

    Hot Chics, underwear, and BEER

Here is a more serious reply. I too worry about some of the avatars or language when I am at work. Therefore, I limit my visits to HBT while at work. Now that I am a paying member, I make sure that I don't log in from work because the mod edit would definitely get me in trouble.

    Setting up my keggle

There is also another thread that is very important. It contains a warning to make sure you drill hole in the "rings/handle" things. If water is trapped in them, they can explode. Somebody help me with the link or see the sticky above...

    Keezer outside in FL?

My biggest concern would be something growing/living in the tap. If the taps are outside, covered, in the shade, I think would be primo critter conditions. Garages are so (*&*& hot in the summer, nothing wants to be in there. I wouldn't worry about how much the equipment runs, thats the...

    bending dip tube

One day I will get there (have more patience) once my pipeline is established. I am also sharpening my skills so that I can brew on demand for friends. :mug:

    bending dip tube

I am going straight from primary to kegs. I might be using gelatin at some point as well. I would rather bend than cut but I have not decided to do anything yet. I am new to kegging and trying to learn about the options. :mug:

    Hi from Ohio!

I agree. Compared to some other forums, this one is very "professional". Mature vs a bunch of bs. Not to say that there is not a naughty side! Welcome!

    North Dakota BOY

Welcome! Funny you mention Sam Adams Boston Lager. I started because I wanted to brew Sam Adams Oktoberfest. I tried that twice. Never was happy with the results. I have only tried a few of the highly recommended recipes but I have brewed them several time because people like them and it...

North Palm Beach, Florida - - Salute!

Although I have made a few posts, here is my official introduction. 1st - extract, no real recipe stout = pretty good 2nd - extract, turned a Corona clone into a Shocktop since I did not understand fermenting at too high of a temp. 3rd - all grain, missed temps not preheating cooler mash...

    trub in my primary fermenter

Your second batch ever was all-grain? Very impressive. Did you contain your hops in a bag of some sort? I recently ran a double batch. One fermenter got the clean wort. The other got everything else. Since I dumped my hops in the boil kettle, the everything else fermenter was more...
