    Man, I love Apfelwein

I couldnt agree more with the love of apple wine! I love it! I like using grape juice with apple juice. I think the two create a synergy which is better than either a grape juice wine or an apple juice wine alone. Here is a 22.5L (Carboy) Versatile Recipe which I always stick to when making...

Hi again Guys, Its a ridiculous state at present with the White Grape Juice. Sainsburys stopped selling it about a year ago now - I have contacted them, they said they have no intention of restocking it. Tescos stopped selling it quite a while ago, before I made wine - I contacted them...

White Grape Juice Drought in the UK

Has anyone else had any issues getting white grape juice in the UK lately? Sainsburys stopped selling it at the beginning of the year, and Asda have just stopped selling it too. I have had a look around all the supermarkets (apart from Netto), and it is only still supplied by Waitrose, where...

    Compilation of Recipes

Cheers Jacob, I have no plans on making beer. I would have to become a full blown alcoholic to justify making even more booze! I like beer, but I dont have the same passion for it as I have wine. Id prefer to concentrate on wine, and give good advice rather than not so good advice on beer. I...

    Compilation of Recipes

I have realised my site name is wrong in all respects! The term "Wine" only applies to wine made from grapes. Wines made from other fruits, should be superseded by the name of the fruit. As most of my recipes are for non grape wines, it should be "The Fruit Winemakers...". The word "Good"...

Additive for a clean pour from Bottle Conditioned beer ...

Did you find out what yeast to use? Have you tried champagne yeast at all, as it gives very little deposit (although not gel). It will effect the flavour of the beer, but champagne beers are a real specialty! I would imagive that the discorging process may be a bit excessive for beer making...

    Compilation of Recipes

Hi Bernard & Jacob, With regards to the site name, I am aware that brewing is the process of making beer or tea, but I like the alliteration of Brew & Book, (the name is also a reference to the Anarchists Cook Book, which isnt about cooking)! Myself and my friends all refer to my wines as home...

    Compilation of Recipes

Hi Guys, After frustration with a lot of useless recipes which seem to be out there, I have put together a list of recipes, which I like and I believe should be reliable. I have also given the processes I use, and other information I find useful! I have provided a few links to books on Amazon...

6 Different Bottles of Wine from 1 Gallon of Base Wine!

To recap, the book gives the recipe for a base wine, which can then be diluted with varying degrees of grape concentrate, sugar, water and raspberries to make 6 different style wines. I made up all 6 wines, for which the three sweet wines came out oustandingly! Unfortunately the medium...

    DRIED Elderberry Wine?

Has anyone had any good results with making wine from dried elderberries? I made some once and it came out terribly, then made some with fresh and it was fantastic! It may have been down to me method: I boiler 250g and 1.25Kg sugar in water for a bit, cooled and pulp fermented for 10...
