    First Saison

Is there a yeast which would work better for me? My apartment is usually close to 70F Also I think I might lose the biscuit and add some orange zest. What is the best time to add orange zest?

    Good Raspberry Wheat recipe

I have brewed mostly IPAs and Stouts since starting brewing about a year ago. I am currently in the process of building a two tap kegerator and brewed my house IPA in preparation for its opening pour. I decided it was probably time to brew something for SWMBO as well to celebrate this joyous...

Did I need to make a yeast starter?

So I made a new recipe for a IPA with the help of my LHBS, and the OG came out to be 1.080... about 20 points higher than I expected. It was a PM, but I don't have the recipe on me atm. I will post it once I get back to school. My question is regarding whether or not I needed a yeast starter...

    New brewer needs IPA help!

So the first beer I brewed was a dry Irish stout to get some experience and a bit of a handle on the whole process. I then made a recipe for an IPA, which by tasting the wort, may be a spicy caramel IPA. Here is the recipe for the partial mash: Grains: 3 lbs: Munich LME 3.5 lbs: Extra Pale LME...

    Just finished bottling first batch

Hi all, So I just finished bottling my first batch of beer... what a mess. How do you guys bottle? Any special or effective techniques you guys use. Also, I suck at using my autosiphon. Between bottling and siphoning, I think I feel like I have oxygenated my beer quite a few times. Any...

    First Brew Errors

Hey guys, Just brewed up my first beer last night (dry irish stout), and made a few errors, but I think everything is okay. However, I came home today from class and the yeast, at least I think its yeast, had bubbled up into airlock at the top of my carboy. When I checked this morning...

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'm going to go to my local homebrew store tomorrow and pick the guys brain and maybe pick up a kit. I agree, it would probably be best if I started with a kit.

    New brewer needs IPA help!

Hi! I'm a college student who discovered how much I love good beer while studying in Australia. Now that I'm back state side, I want to give it a shot. I've done a fair amount of reading and I'm really excited to start brewing. I've decided to try my hand at an IPA first. I'm not sure how...
