    NHC 2015 - Registration Open

I was just getting concerned since it has been a few days and I haven't received any notification. I did get the generic email saying you will be notified when the website updates. Hopefully I will get some more detailed info early next week. Also are the dates correct on the FAQ for...

    NHC 2015 - Registration Open

Luckily my pale ale made it through Zanesville. This is my first year entering the NHC. What is the next step for the final round? They haven't emailed in any information yet so I am a little confused.

Brewing small (< 5 gal) batches...

I have only been brewing 1 gallon batches because of space restraints where I currently live. I enjoy it because I get to brew more and try a wide variety of brews. No down side to brewing small, just a smaller amount of beer to drink. There is a good 1 gallon brewer thread on there I would...

    Deciding On Your Next Homebrew

I normally work on one recipe until I have it "perfected". (at least in my mind) In between I just brew whatever I find interesting!

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

@Weezy Thanks for the advice. I think the first couple I will just use a carboy and oak cubes. Any advice on the amount of oak cubes to use?

    Barrel question

Question on inoculating chips/cubes. What would be the best way to store those if not being used? @Wahoo I am not against brewing a sour in glass I was just wanted to try a barrel. I will most likely brew my first sour in glass.

    Barrel question

The goal of the barrel was to inoculate it with bugs since it's harder to find a variety of commercial sours where I live.

    Barrel question

So it would be a better investment to choose a 5 gallon barrel, or will that size have the same issue?

    Barrel question

I brew small 1 gallon batches because of my apartment living and wanted to start brewing sours. I really want to incorporate a barrel into the process. I do not have room for a 5 gallon barrel. I have found several 1 gallon barrels though. Would a barrel like this work for long term aging...

    Lambic Yeast Selection

Big Red Liquors has a small selection of sours. It seems to turn over quickly. I normally shop at the one in Plainfield, but my buddy swears the one in Brownsburg is better. Just drank a Bruery Oude Tart last night that I had picked up.

    Lambic Yeast Selection

After tasting some sours, I have decided to brew my own. I am still in the planning phase and was wondering what yeast or bug blend would be a good foundation to use in addition to bottle harvested bugs? My local homebrew store is Great Fermentations and would prefer to be able to pick it up...

Anyone need a logo design for their homebrews

I would love to get help with a label. A year ago my best friend passed away. I have since been brewing a beer in his honor. I have a label, but it needs to look better. The beer is an American Pale Ale. It is called Corporal Khaos. My buddy was a USMC Corporal. If you are interesting in...

Brewing Several days in a row... Experience at a local brewery

Would the 1st practice be able to be used on a homebrew scale. Example: I brew 1 gallon of my beer pitch yeast and put in 5 gal fermentor. Could I think brew an additional gallon each day until my fermentor is full? More so what issues could arise? Besides infection.
