    Lupulin powder usage planning

3 to 1 from my usage, there is a small burn involved the first week after you keg (at least with citra lupulin) but it smooths out. I have only used it in bigger beers, so I am not sure if in lower abv beers it will be different...

Ipa exract recipe hop schedule question

yep, and it works for a centennial only IPA.. :) people will wonder why chinook at all, but at 10, it'll bring out the pine, and maybe some of the grapefruit. Centennial late is going to build up the citrus and grapefruit tones. Amarillo at the end will bring out the grapefruit, apricot...

Ipa exract recipe hop schedule question

I would cut the crystal, or add 1/2 pound of corn sugar to help dry it out, with those hops: 60 min 1 oz centennial 10 min 1 oz chinook 0 min 2 oz centennial 0 min 1 oz amarillo 0 min 1 oz citra dry hop 1 oz citra dry hop 2 oz centennial in my opinion that's a good balanced beer. I have been...

    Double IPA Recipe Help

Grainbill, I would do late extract additions, but either way, .. hop schedule: Looks fine, I'd move the 5 min to 2, whirlpool with your 5 day dry hops then dry hop 4 days before bottling/kegging with your 10 days dry hop. but your above will be a good beer.

First time brew - high temperature

whatever you do, keep making beer. If you like ESB, then you should make another one, following better temp control. Sometimes it's as easy as picking up a 50 dollar fridge or full size wine cooler, or swamp cooler. (or like me, buy a house that has a basement that stays at 66 during the...

    Cleaning My Plate Chiller

I second (third) the bake it approach. I usually hop spider 300 micron if using my plate chiller, but now I just go back to my counter flow and let the hops flow free. that said, I always go back and forth with a high pressure water flush on my filter and it has always flushed it out.

Irma hurricane brought me to Tennessee from Florida.

I was just up there this summer. (again) There is not much from local brewers. In Pigeon Forge, next to a bbq place is a craft beer store. I am not trying to knock the store or the location. Yee haw, to me, is undrinkable. Smokey Mountain Brewery (they have more than one location, I went...

Delay between 0' hop addition and start of chill?

I flame out, toss my hops in, start chilling. i get down to 185 fairly quickly. but I whirlpool lower, I like to bring it to 150, then I toss in more pellet hops, then keep it right around 140. (even if I have to turn the heat on to maintain) but if just lupullin powder, I'll start that at...
