    Buy Kegerator or DIY

Like others have said, go bigger if you can. I have a 5.0cuft keezer and wish I had gone 7 for that third keg. No more capacity than a mini fridge but I fit a 10lb tank in mine. I *could* fit an additional 3gal keg in there, but before I bother modifying what I have, I'll just move to a...

Separate Power Cords for Freezer/Fridge Combo

From my layman's understanding... Would it be easy, no, but you "should" be able to replace the fridge thermostat with a digital controller, while leaving the freezer thermostat alone. The fridge is cooled by fan inputs from the freezer side, so instead of switching the cooling, you would...

New Keezer w/ Bar Build, Hardwood, 4 tap, with wine and liquor storage

This looks great. I wish I had the room for a large keezer like this one, I like the storage incorporated into the sides. Looks like you know what you're doing with the woodworking also, looking forward to seeing it complete.

    Barnwood Keezer

Sorry for the delay, but I finally got my keezer back together and was able to monitor the temps. I set my ITC1000 to 40F, and the coffin stayed between 50-51F. This is using a single 4" PC fan blowing upwards into the coffin, with four 1" return holes. I am planning to rig a PVC duct to...

cacao nibs in a chocolate stout

I used 4oz in a choc/coffee/oatmeal stout. Turned out great. I threw them right in the primary for 10 days, most of the nibs seemed to float up top and hang in the krausen, then dropped out after a the krausen settled. Racked to secondary for 24hrs to cold crash before bottling. It was a...

    Barnwood Keezer

Not yet. I haven't had a chance to complete the final assembly. I'll get some spare time this weekend and will get it together then, I'll be sure to post temps and also my fan specs.

    Barnwood Keezer

I'm guessing you have one fan blowing in, one out? I wonder if it would make a difference to only use one fan blowing in, to maybe prevent the cold air from being "pulled" out by the other? I'm curious to see what my temp differential is as my setup is very similar to yours. I'll take note of...

    Barnwood Keezer

Is this beer temp in the glass, or monitored temp inside the coffin box? It's expected for a warmer beer glass and air temp to raise the poured beer temp, but the coffin should be closer if its insulated well.

    Show us your Kegerator

I have a coffin keezer built from a GE 5.0cuft freezer. It fits two ball locks and a 10lb CO2 bottle. Here is my build thread with more pictures and details: Cheapskate Coffin Keezer

    Cheapskate Coffin Keezer

Thanks... I removed the original lid and built this one from 3/4" plywood, with a 2x4 frame around it and pallet wood on top. The 2x4 frame sits on the freezer much like a "collar" as many people use on other keezers, so it gives about 4" extra headroom needed for my CO2 tank to fit. I haven't...

    Cheapskate Coffin Keezer

I'm about 98% done with my keezer build at this point. I decided to stick with two 5-gal ball locks and a 10lb CO2 bottle, rather than trying to squeeze in a small 3rd keg on the compressor hump. I ended up going with Perlick 650ss for the flow control feature; after pouring from one I was...

Anyone Ever Build a Coffin with Storage Access

Here's a great example of exactly what you are trying to do. Really cool build from another member here. I wish I had gone with a larger freezer now so I could incorporate this into my keezer. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=298719

Anyone Ever Build a Coffin with Storage Access

I saw a picture online of a coffin keezer with a small hatch cut into the lid, to the side of the tower, to access the inside without raising the entire top. I'll see if I can find the picture to post later, I think I saved it on my computer at home.

    Founder's Breakfast Stout

Thought I'd share this recipe I came across, I will be brewing this tomorrow. I'll be sure to post a review after it's ready. Any input is welcomed! :mug: It is a partial grain recipe, hopefully my last before I delve into all-grain brewing. I will be modifying this recipe slightly...

    Gorilla Glue for Keezer build?

Honestly I'd try and correct the collar square-ness, don't forget that'll affect how it fits to the lid as well. Is your collar screwed together? If so, try backing some of the screws out a couple turns to let it "settle" flat, if that makes sense. Sometimes a cut might not be 100% square...

    Gorilla Glue for Keezer build?

I would use silicon caulk as well, I'm sure it would hold plenty strong enough. No need for something as permanent as Gorilla Glue, plus it makes for some nasty squeeze-out when it expands as it dries.

    I did it! I built a 6 tap keezer!!

Brulosophy is where I saw them for the first time as well, really sold me on them. They look like a quality faucet as compared to a Perlick, I prefer the brushed finish, and if I can support a small company that's a plus. :mug:

Thanks for the input. Looks like the brushed version are popular, they're out of stock at the moment.

    Cheapskate Coffin Keezer

Hey there folks, I'm excited to say my keezer build is finally underway. I've been planning and daydreaming for months now as my GE 5.0cuft freezer sat in the garage unused. Main goals are to use as much free/salvage material as possible, although I did splurge on a new freezer in hopes that...

    I did it! I built a 6 tap keezer!!

I came here to post this exact question- I'm also curious about the Vent-Matics. Which size spout do you use? Any "hollow pours" like some seem concerned about?
