    Keezer Collar the Coastarine Way

+1 on a freezer probably being more efficient than a minifridge. Also a collar on a freezer is probably easier than adding a tower on a minifridge, maybe cheaper in parts too. I'd look for a newish freezer on CL or consider buying new, maybe a scratch and dent. Personally I got a 4yo...

    Kegging a Stout

Great timing, I was wondering the same thing the other day. I have the faucet and mix tank, so if I do brew a stout should I prime the keg with straight CO2 or the CO2/Nitrogen mix?

The cure for your short hose troubles

I thought that was the idea, to get the same pour as if you had lower PSI while being able to keep the keg carbed at higher PSI. Or are you saying that the pour was slow like low PSI but foamy like high PSI? Thinking about the stainless version, and trying to clarify.

CO2 pressure in vs out of fridge?

Inside advantage: you don't have to run the gas lines through the fridge door/wall for dorm/uprights. Less of an issue for a kreezer with a collar. Outside advantage: More room for kegs. I've read the tanks are less likely to leak outside the fridge. Lots of folks seem to do just fine with...

CO2 pressure in vs out of fridge?

Thanks to everyone for their answers and especially the above explanation.

CO2 pressure in vs out of fridge?

These are questions about temperature/pressure differences more than anything else. My tank is outside the fridge, and set at 12PSI. My keg is inside the fridge (duh). Things I believe to true: The keg is also at 12 PSI, just a lot colder. If I disconnected the CO2, took the keg out and...

Kegerator - hard to pour first pint.

I second/third/whatever getting the Perlick 525 SS or 575 SS (525 w/creamer). I have a pair of the 575 SS, they're great. Haven't actually needed the creamer yet, but played with it a few times. It's also a riot when your friends come over and can't shut off the faucet because they're pushing...

    Beer Too Warm?

As others have pointed out, it could be a lot of things. Line diameter, line length, temperature, or pressure. You definitely need to eliminate leaks as you described. Most kegerators are balanced (line length/diameter vs temperature/pressure) to be served under 40 degrees, so you might want...

    4 tap faucet positioning

I like the look of 2 better. I like the option of a fifth tap but personally wouldn't put a sticker on my kegerator. When I did mine I just put one more tap in than I thought I'd need/use.

Beer line tests & solution to the "plastic" taste

Options: That's not where mine came from, but you can always call them- I actually ordered 500' of 6 bundled 3/8 lines (4 beer 2 glycol) for about $30 total from someplace. Then I realized it was 3/8, which meant I'd need all 500' to balance anything :) I was just re-reading the thread, I...

Beer line tests & solution to the "plastic" taste

My setup is up and running. A bit over 20' of tubing, about 12 outside the fridge. Copper tubing with a pond pump in a glycol reservoir to keep the lines outside the fridge cool. With the beer at 38 degrees, a rise of just over 2 feet, and 11-12 PSI the system seems pretty well balanced...

    Help designing kegerator conversion kit

My advice is to figure out if you want any particular or 'premium' parts first. I just went through this (ordered yesterday). The new style perlick faucets w/ creamer (575ss) and a high end dual body regulator were important to me. If you're picky about the drip tray (I was) that can be a...

Beer line tests & solution to the "plastic" taste

I went with the Bev-Seal. I called locally, the US manufacturer (Accuflex) and a list of US distributors they gave me. In the end I took the plunge and ordered the minimum 500' of it. Why? When my through the wall setup is done, access to the back of the shanks will be a major effort...
