    I roll first class

If my wife sees one more Austin HB store charge on the credit card......she's gonna buy a new Coach purse!

    I roll first class

You're looking at one tin can, two coat hangers, and a hose clamp.

    Lautering 10-gallon batches

When you guys brew ten gallon batches, how long does it take for you to fly sparge and lauter the whole batch? If you collect wort at 1 gallon in 12 minutes with a 5 gallon batch, do you collect 2 gallons in 12 minutes for a 10 gallon batch? In other words, as you scale up the batch size...

    Home Brewing = Saving Money?

I just finished purchasing $300 in lab equipment for yeast slants (so I can save $6 on yeast)! Its like how my wife saves money by buying all those shoes because they were on "sale".

    hydrogen sulfide

A question for you beer gurus! I have cider/beer hybrid ready to drink. It has a confirmed case of hydrogen sulfide. The brew tastes great, the sulphide is all in the aroma and is moderately strong. Will this clear up with a couple months of bottle conditioning on the basement floor? Toss...

122 degree blast of water to the eye

Has any one ever pushed a bottle down onto the bottle washer and missed the nozzle but pushed down the plate--and got a pressurized blast of hot water right to your eyeball and knocked you down to the floor in a comic over-reaction? Not that this happened to me this weekend...just wondering.

Should I add more water to my starter?

Adam, try this calculator, I like this on much better: http://www.yeastcalc.com/ If you get one of those gallon jugs at your local HB store, you can do a two-step two liter starter that will get you up where you need to be (254B) with occasional stirring.

    Fruit beer extract kit recommendation

I've done a few fruit extract kits, mostly wheat beers. I didn't like the fruit extracts that are packaged with the kits. I would advise racking beer onto fruit in the secondary. Just my 2-cents. Good Luck.

Are any of the "mini draft" systems worth it?

If you have a keg setup, have you considered a counter pressure bottle filler? I think that would be a good long-term investment. If you have one, you can dispense into any container and take it where you like (two liter bottle, growlers)...

Anyone else prefer to see into the primary?

Ha! Well said! I do like the better-bottles though after knowing a friend that had a glass accident.

    collecting caps!

Use them as tile, thin-set to table top or something, then grout.
