    WLP209 yeast

You can probably do an IPA/NEIPA with it as well. Kolsch is one of my favorite styles. I've been trying to make a really good one for a couple of years now. Go with the Kolsch

    Pressure Fermentation > 20psi

I've no experience with Kviek under pressure but I've had lager yeast get to low 30's and it produced a fantastic beer.

Who else uses 34/70 on the regular?

S-23 is great too. Best lager I've produced to date. Fermented under pressure and it was crystal clear in 9 days. 34/70 is taking a month to 6 weeks to drop clear for me. I don't use finings

This Can't Be Good: Last Call At Another Notable Brewery

I'm thankful to have two great breweries within 2 miles of my house and they do great 'clear beer' as I like to call it. They also do great IPA's. Actually, they are much more known for their IPA's but they do great lagers/pils too. But I also have 2 more that are will not get any more of my...

This Can't Be Good: Last Call At Another Notable Brewery

I went to the one in Colorado Springs last year. They must have closed their doors as well. Beer wasn't very good and the place was dead. I went because of name recognition. I used to love Dale's Pale. Haven't had the courage to buy it over the last couple of years because I'm afraid I'd waste...

This Can't Be Good: Last Call At Another Notable Brewery

Craft beer scene seems to be at an all time high. Customers are more picky then we used to be with so many good craft beer options and unfortunately, Oskar Blues is not producing great beer anymore.

How To Get This Out of My Kettle

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll give it the old elbow grease with some BKF and see what happens. Hopefully I can smooth out some of those scratches too. It's a stainless steel kettle @MaxStout

How To Get This Out of My Kettle

I have not but I will give it a shot. Any longterm issues with the scratching of the kettle?

How To Get This Out of My Kettle

Had this happen before but was able to clean it no problem. This time it won't come off without me scratching the surface all to hell, which you can see I've started to do. This is the result of my hop spider sitting on the bottom of the kettle during the boil. It's a cheap kettle and I have a...

    On second batch

That kinda stinks. I'm fortunate enough to have two in the DFW area. Morebeer is a great option though. I'm always impressed when I brew their kits and I've never had a bad experience when ordering from them.

    On second batch

If the first beer you ever brewed was awesome, congrats. You're in the minority. You may have a bright future in brewing! But, patience is key. Give it some time before opening the lid.

    WTF is this for?

After a small amount of research, probably can't unscrew or add a PRV to this regulator. You can either buy with the PRV or buy without. Two different products

    WTF is this for?

From the pic that was posted from Ebay, that 'port' we'll call it, was a PRV. My first thought is this was an updated version of that product with a newer style pressure relief valve but it's probably just a cover for an unused port. Looks like you can buy the PRV that would screw into that...

Why are spotlights controlled by light switches?

Still going need the light switch to remain on for them to get power (I know you know that just stating the obvious in reference to this post) May want to put a piece of tape on the light switch so nobody turns it off. That's how mine is. In fact, it also controls the garage outlet that's...

Bucket Blaster Took a Dump Last Night

@Clint Yeastwood I bought that same pump you linked to and it only lasted 3 or 4 brews. I was using it to push ice water through my IC. I then bought this pump Amazon and I'm not any happier with it. I think it's all boils down to that old saying "You get what you pay for"

Why are spotlights controlled by light switches?

My house is setup like this as well. The current spotlights probably replaced some much older technology and instead of re-doing the wiring, kept it status quo
  18. W

    WTF is this for?

Looks like a pressure relief valve. It should pop out if it ever needs to OR it's just a cover for a PRV attachment that didn't come with your purchase

    Cooling the wort

^ This is the way Immersion chiller in hot wort until 100-120 (I get mine down to about 90 first). Then switch over to your normal process.

    Traveling with keg in car

Bleeding off the pressure using the prv or a spunding valve while transferring you can just smell that goodness leaving the keg but hey, may be very minimal. I wonder if there have been studies?
